I agree, except for the frog thing. Besides the restaurant showcased in the video, I've never came across any other place serving frogs. The oignon soup also became a tourist attraction. Very few people still cook/eat it.

I love you two guys! i paid a visit to Paris from Ireland for 3 days. It was fantastic and on the final day as i was sitting outside a cafe, who did i spot across the road on two scooters 🛴🛴waiting for the lights to change was 'Les Frenchies' i waited for you to pass so i could shout hello! 🤪 but a truck blocked my view of you 😪 I was still so excited to see you both. As a born and raised parisian, I must say it is pretty accurate except for crêpes, best crêpes are in Montparnasse area in Rue du Montparnasse, mostly because it is the Bretons area. Fav is La crêperie de Josselin ! And I suggest you to try the best frog legs you could find in Paris at Allard restaurant in Saint Germain area.

Most of these look dangerously delicious. My goal in life is to visit Paris, but it may be dangerous to my health ( I am getting my third heart stint in a few weeks). However frog legs and escargot are off of my menu, merci but non! You could dip an old Michelin in garlic and butter sauce and it would be delicious. The foie gras and pates are off my list too. I am a Pennsylvania German and scrapple, souse and the the other common local PA pates are also off my menu. My son and wife would love to visit the fondu shop, and that chocolate delight is fabulous. I once lived near Hershey PA and the aroma from the chocolate factory was marvelous. Variety, seeing different people, cultures and new experiences are what we travel for and the other 8 recommendations are just waiting to be tried. … as long as I bring my meds, I may invite my cardiologist. Bon appetite! Hope to see Paris soon.

Yes, if you have high cholesterol like I do, you avoid fatty meats and cheeses. I did have onion soup - it was spectacular! and plenty of croissants when I was in Paris, but we did walk alot so hopefully burned some off. I don't drink, my son tried wine for the first time and didn't like it. But we'll take ALL the pastries

Love your show! So jealous!! I am such a Francophile and LOVE French food. I love the food and pastries in Dijon, the city has most of the gourmand restaurants in one location, at least it did before COVID. We have not been back since. Hope one day to join you in France, but no in Paris. Maybe you visit Dijon and do a show, if yes please check if the main church has been refurbished? You know how the French government takes their sweet time with the maintenance of their heritage. Also, hope you get rid of Macron and soon!

I would recommend:- crepe suzettes in the lovely orangey sauce and flambed with grande marnier. Instead of profiteroles, everyone has already tried them, try Paris brest; it is a choux ring with more interesting fillings. For chocolates try Valrhona and also Maison au Chocolate.

In an old movie: "Anatomy of a Murder", James Steward, who plays a lawyer, has a discussion with a judge about a hook that he is making to catch frogs to prepare the best frog legs he has ever eaten. The movie dates back to the fifties, so it seems that frog legs were also a staple of American cuisine back then. Their flesh is very subtle and very light, almost tasteless hence the heavy garlic sauce that comes with it.

I just bought your guide hear about a week ago and here is a tip to make your guide much better. I’m headed to Paris next week and I’m planing my days. And all the restaurants that you recommend in the food section you should put what attraction there near. We are planning on spending the first day at the Louvre. If you had just a little not that said near louvre or near The Eiffel Tower it would be easier for people planning that don’t know where the Eiffel tower is compared to the West Bank. Maybe you could have a section that says Eiffel Tower best restaurants around Eiffel Tower to maybe visit? Just an idea love the guide just wish I didn’t have to Google map to say OK what’s close to XYZ attraction.

A little warning about crepes... The sweet ones are good pretty much anywhere but beware of the galettes ! While some might be almost as delicious as the ones found in Brittany, they are usually not cheap and are served in crêperies (restaurants). The ones you can get on the go in small food trucks near touristic spots are certainly a meal, but a decent one I don't know.
