Great video. I wish I’d heard it when I was first married 50 years ago when first stated yelling at me. Our marriage has crumbled and now I’m happier separated.

That happened to me when I was a child. I sat there with a group of maybe 10 women at my church, telling them that my dad is emotional. He may be physically abusing my mom and us and they said well we don't have any evidence of that, so we're going to kick your mom out of the church. And now I am in the same position and I can't go to the church because they don't understand my husband is not the same person in the house as he is outside of the house and I have two children and I love them so much. He's been physically abusive to me multiple times not a lot but multiple times and he's cheated on me one time as far as I know, and all I ever wanted was a loving home and it's walking on eggshells all the time trying to make things perfect for him so that he doesn't explode or do discomfort, sighing and facial expressions and judgment

thats the problem with most churches, theyre not supportive, choose sides between spouses and are judgemental

I’m feeling so triggered by my family about Mothers Day right now. My covert narc husband has our daughters convinced he’s mister wonderful. They’re coming over Sunday and I just dread the passive aggressive undercurrent that has ruined more holidays than I can count for me… I feel so trapped as a scapegoat by my own family- my husband and married kids. 😢

How can you take back this holiday? Maybe you need to spend the day alone doing something you love. Bottom line is you don't HAVE to do anything, especially if it makes you feel worse. - Julie, Stronger Together Team

@@leslievernick thank you! Heres what i did (i know the Lord gave me this idea!): i texted my girls that sunday wasnt going to work for me after all (they were going to come after church for lunch, and i was picking up on grudging vibes from them), so now we are going to “try” to get lunch together friday instead, and on Sunday, ive invited 5 other ladies i know who are also sort of “displaced” (due to various reasons: thoughtless kids who dont take time for them on Mother’s Day, or kids are out of state, etc). I am SO excited about this idea! Im going to use my best china, silverware and crystal and surprise them all by treating them like QUEENS. I pray it will be our best Mothers Day ever!

28 year marriage. Two grown kids. Left my narc husband 5 years ago. Still trauma bonding and guilt. Does God think I did the right thing? Do my kids think I did the right thing by leaving after all those years? Always questioning myself. I tried so hard to hold the family together. He was a tortured soul. We were always scared he was going to blow up over something. He was a ticking time bomb 💣

Comments were made that there are biblical grounds for separation and/or divorce. Would you please share those Scriptures where separation and/or divorce are mentioned along with the biblical grounds? Do you know of any NT references? I can’t find any mention of separation, at least in the New Testament. The only biblical grounds I can find in the New Testament for divorce are sexual immorality and desertion. Which specific passages are you referring to?

Taking away a privilege from a child is bad parenting ???? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Kids do need a discipline at times. Reasoning is good but so are times of discipline.

I don't believe that was said in the episode. She was talking about slapping across the face, etc. Kids absolutely need discipline at times. - Julie, Stronger Together Team

@@leslievernick at the 10:15 mark. It’s mentioned about taking away privilege in the negative sense. I strongly disagree that that is not ok.
@kallaharris402410 ай бұрын
I agree that taking privileges as a parenting tool is helpful but this actually has little to do with the overall point of the message. In the context of that segment, it is referencing unhealthy parenting involving using manipulation tactics to maintain control. So the privileges are threatened to be taken away/taken away not as a part of regular expectations and consequences, but as a means to control children and to get them to comply vs obey.
