Less is more: Don't overcontrol your stable heli!!

Be relaxed! New flightcontrollers like the OFS3 in the OMPHOBBY M2 EVO MK2 give our helis a crazy stabity! And the gyroscopic effect of the rotating Rotor Disc gives our helis more stability than we might expect. Once tilted forwards, backwards or sideways, our 3D heli "travels" in a stable angle after putting the cyclic stick back to the neutral mid position. Too big or too many control inputs can only disturb this stability. It's important to NOT overcontrol a helicopter with JUST the RIGHT amount of cyclic and collective pitch control inputs. LESS is MORE. Control your heli ONLY as much as NEEDED. Understanding this, changed a lot of me. No more YoYo effect when holding the altitude in a hover, no more rocking from left to right or forth and back before landings. Try it and pleaese leave in the comments what you think! Safe flights!!

@All_things_RC Thank you very much! I am glad you liked my advice, although by mistake I several times mixed "as less" as possible with the opposite... It's not always easy to use a foreign language, talk AND fly all at the same time!! Best greetings!!

You're control has improved even more Matthias! Very good video! I would like to see you do a video of you doing a comparison between the old M2 V2, and the new M2 EVO MK2.

@AnythingEverythingRC Tahnk you very much!! I am flying a lot in the simulator AND on the field lately and it feels so similar for me! I will do a comparison video: But even of all 3 models: M2 V2, M2 EVO and M2 EVO MK2!! Three generations!! Best greetings!!

Hey Matthias!! I had a quick unrelated question, what kind or brand of mini ball Link pliers do you use working on the M2? Yes I finally need them. Lol I flew into the top of a tree which wasn’t so bad but the 40 foot fall to the pavement wasn’t so good.😮 anyway I’ll get her back together but my ball link pliers are way too big awesome video. Keep it up peace.!!

@mykel1969 Thank you very much, Mykel! On my M2 (and my M1's as well) I am using the small black OMPHOBBY ball pliers. They are the only ones fitting on these small balls. You can only take the ball links off (with very few efford) but you have to push them back on the ball with the fingers. But with the M2 this is easy! Sorry to hear about your crash but parts are really cheap on this Real World SIM heli (and ankle biter!!) Hope the link works!! www.buddyrc.com/products/omphobby-ball-link-pliers

@@RCCopterLove Got it, and a bunch of parts, yes link worked! I'm wondering about my ankle biters identity crisis , cause it went up that tree like a cat! Thanks brother!

@@mykel1969 😀 You have to be kind to her now and explain her that she really is a heli and not a cat. It's no wonder that she is very confused, since you call her once "ankle biter", then fly her like a heli and the next day give her the job of a cat! Who would NOT have a identiy crisis??? 😀 I am happy the link worked! The pliers are VERY small for bigger hands, but once you found a good place where to put them under the plastic ball link you can use them without applying any force. It took me some time and practice, because especially around swash plate there is very little free space. But some angles work great. It's a matter of trying. If you need to apply force you don't have them at the right place and something in in the way! Always with very little power. (I have seen your hands, they look qiute powerful!! ) Greetings, brother!!

are u gonna discus advancing blade theory, effective translational lift, dissymmetry of lift and airflow in a hover?

@sawyerheslep8493 Thank you very much for your question! I guess my theoretical knowledge is too little to answer such complicated questions, unfortunately. I am not really qualified in theory. But as soon as I find some practical tips for flying better on the field, I will share them here. Sorry and best greetings!

@RCCopterLove these are all things that happen with a helicopter no matter the scale. U should learn about these things! Then you'll have a better understanding of how the air interacts with a rotor system. It helps me understand what's going on, I like to think about how the air will interact with my heli. Especially if you wanna fly scale and f3c. Plus it's just super cool. Knowledge is power and I encourage you to never stop learning!

@@sawyerheslep8493 You are absolutely right! I have read a lot about helicopter aerodynamics, Especially the Vortex Ring State Effect and how to come out of it when it happens! I just meant that I dont not really fit enough to make a video about these topics. In a while I will be flying helis for 4 years. So I am really still a greenhorn. Thanks for motivating me to dive deeper into the fascinating interaction of the air with the rotorsystems, main and tail. And you are right once again that it's the best to never stop learning!! I wish you tons of fun learning and flying! Greetings from Poland!

Do you prehead your Batteries when you flying in cold weather? I want to go flying but I dont know how Bad the Batterie is by this temperature
@RCCopterLove
@RCCopterLove 9 күн бұрын
@SkyspinRC2000 Thank you for your question. I do not preheat my batteries, but I keep them in the pockets of my jacket to protect them a bit from the cold. And I reduce the flight times in my timers: In the M2 to 3.30 min instead of 4.15 in warmer conditions. And I never fly when it's below 2 or 3 degrees celsius. Then only SIM. I hope this helps!
This one exercise can rapidly improve your flying skills!!
