So Easy! Why building my OMPHOBBY M4 Max was a pleasure

To build the second heli kit of your life is fantastic: Everything is so much easier and more fun, because you know much better what you are doing. With my OMPHOBBY M4 Max I did everything a bit better! The wiring, the amount of Loctite and where to use it, the electronic setup. It's raining and snowing since I finished my new heli. I hope for better weather and can't wait to get this even more powerful sister of my M4 in the air and do the maiden flight! See you then on the field!

Unfortunately bad weather, lots of rain first and now snow and strong winds delay my M4 Max maiden flight. I am not made from suger, but the conditions are so bad now, that even as a ultimate heli freak like I am not able to fly my new heli for the first time. I hope weather conditions will be better soon!

Great video. I have just completed an M4 build, my first RC heli build. As you mention it looks similar to the 4max build and I too made the mistake with the belt, a difficult step but other than this all was relatively straight forward. I still have to complete the radio link and set up my Fly Bar Less unit (again a new for me) but cant wait to get my M4 into the sky.

All_things_RC Thank you for your kind comment! Yes, for guys like us new to building kits bring the tail belt just with the right amount of twist through the tail boom and around those pulleys is tricky. I wish you good luck with the Flybarless and radio setup! This was another challenge for me as I don't like computers, smartfones and programming. I wish you a great maiden flight and lot's of fun flying this beauty! The M4 and the M4 Max are now my favorite helis! Best greetings!!

It's really good to see that You building helis with passion. About 12 years ago I was building my first 450 size Heli. This is fantastic thing. RC modellers should share their passion and experience with young peoples. Keep RC Heli Alive! Greetings!

Hi @frisos3944 ! Thank you very much! This time I was able to do the programming all by myself, because I just had to copy the EdgeTX model file of my M4 to create the M4 Max model in my Radiomaster TX12 MkII. My good friend Matthias was laying the basis for this last time. Same with the Brain 2 file I had. Receiver binding went great, I reduced the headspeeds, all went well. But now the weather became bad. Lots of rain everyday - now even some first snow and minus temperatures (C)! Extremely strong winds. A bit of bad luck postpones my M4 Max maiden flight. But it will work finally!

@dogtrpp Thanks for the good note! My wife is filming me in most of the cases with her mobile phone. I have to think of adding a potable wireless micro and how to get this better sound to the video picture! I am a complete amateur in this whole stuff! I promise to work on that! ESC assembly is absolute dogwater. It doesnt fit the way it is shown at all. Wonder how the rest is. The manual also is a mix of the normal M4 and the M4 max.

The shape of the ESC could be different to make mounting it easier, thats true. The similarities in the manual are explained by the fact, that many parts used in the M4 Max are coming from the M4, the first model: The frame except the Tail mounting parts. The servo mountings, the complete Rotor Head and swashplate and others. I love my M4 Max and its my favorite heli now. I hope you get everything together well and I wish you lots of fun flying it.

@RCCopterLove Thank you, it's actually my first heli I am building. I got the ESC in now, but with only one strap and tilted, but it fits. Building right now is fun. Gonna feel great when it first flies (hopefully). Wish you lots of fun for future helis aswell 👍

@@crad5476 My ESC is as well tilted, but I used both cable ties and I would really recommend this. There are 2 slots for the ties on boths sides of the plate for the battery tray and ESC. The first build is an adventure!! Well I built only 2helis so far: M4 and then M4 Max. For me the most difficult was Radio programming and the whole setup (in Edge TX/Radiomaster... well). I am a 63 years old and dislike PC's, smartfones, programming...I just love flying! But once you see your first built heli flying it's a great feeling! Thank you for your kind words and all the very best for the bulid and od course the maiden flight!! I cross my fingers!!

@@RCCopterLove I got a FrSky X18 just for this heli, hope it's easy to set up, it feels pretty high quality. Been flying mainly RC planes with my dad since the age of 10, I am 23 now. And I am gonna watch your other videos too, you are very chill and nice, thanks :)
