Less Junk, More Journey

Күн бұрын

We've never experienced ANYTHING like Alaska in the winter! We ride snow machines, stay in an off-grid cabin, and see more snow than we've ever seen in our lives.

I've lived in Michigan all of my life that I can remember. One of my favorite things to do after a big snowfall is walk in the woods. You're the only thing moving. It's really magical. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

What a great place! We haven't been snowmobiling in years and now that our grandson is 10 we are considering it for this upcoming Winter! Just looks like SO much fun...even for a kid who groans that we are "dragging" him out "into nature" LOL!

I'm a goober...I thought there would not be that much light yet in AK. I'm from Haywood County/Maggie Valley/Waynesville area over the mountains from Cookeville and know how a little snow and ice flips people out so had to laugh at your comment about the 2 inches of snow. LOVED your trip - what an adventure! Would you please give us a general "totaling up" of the whole trip at the end and tell us the dates you were there, the costs (if applicable) and stuff like that for those of us who now think this is possible for us too? I'm the planner/data collector and love that kind of info. I'm so happy ya'll got to do this!

This video made me emotional! We are a part-time family, dreaming of full-time. We have 2 kiddos, one who is a wheelie kid. One of our family goals is to break the boundaries society puts on our family. We thrive in the experiences we aren’t ‘supposed’ to be doing. I love seeing you all break the typical! Kids in tow, making it happen. 💜

I'm surprised they don't have lime next to the honeypot and outhouse, my grandparents had indoor water but still had an outhouse and chamber pots until the late 1980's Hope you tried body sledding, If you never heard of it you take a heavy winter coat made of nylon or similar slick material, find a hill and lay on your back and slide headfirst. Try to avoid trees and rocks!

Loved seeing Alaska thru your eyes. Laughed at the Honey Bucket. I'm in my Middle 70's and lived in Southern IL as a child. Our house was heated by a stove similar to the one in the cabin you are in exceot we used coal. There was a pump for water in the kitchen it was a 2 bedroom and a Path. Yes the old outhouse. We had chamber pots that were kept under the beds we referred to them as Thunder Mugs. Seeing the cabin reminded me of those days long ago. Enjoy your stay looking forward to more videos.

There must be more powerful snowmobiles or types that can operate in 6 feet of snow. I follow a channel out of Cloquet MN and he has several snowmobiles. Within the last month his property had accumulated at least two feet of snow and his snowmobile could not handle the snow. Now his snowmobile was a lower profile and yours looks like more of an oversized motorbike so that must be the difference.

Grew up in Thompson Manitoba, Cold and Snow! Alaska looks like lots of snow but seems warm! What a delightful trip, and the Family that encouraged you to do it and are providing the adventure, Bless them Lord!

Welcome to Alaska, our home for 37 yrs. But this summer we are selling our Sticks and Logs and everything else we can sell and leaving Alaska for full time RVing. We've been watching you guys for a couple years now. We live over in the Copper River Valley which you drove through if you drove up!

I could live in that cabin. I lived in Alaska for 2 years while in the army. This was from 1972 to 1974. Was a great place. My wife and I went back in 2004 for vacation. Fairbanks was bigger and more stores. I am so glad you have great friends sharing the Alaskan Experience with you. Thank you

I’ve been watching you guys for so long and I just gotta say every once in a while how much I love your family. Hensley is growing up to be such an awesome kid. And JJ is so hilarious! I loved this video bc your kids were such good sports and I love seeing you two act like kids in the snow! Thanks for the great videos.
