So exactly why am I back on ye old KZbins and what are my new goals? A little long and rambling, maybe a tad disjointed, because...well...it's me ;)

YES. And I'm so glad you're back. When I first started watching videos, I found you and went through your whole channel. I was so disappointed when I got to the end saw you had stopped. I have since had my own VSG (I'm 7 months post-op), and I am working my way through this first year. Frankly, I feel like this is the easy part - so I really appreciate seeing how the "veterans" deal with the challenges that come down the road - maintenance, regain, etc. This is a lifelong journey. So, thank you and welcome back!

unfortunately the minute you stop paying attention to the numbers is when things start spiraling back out of control. I had a regain of about 15 lbs and that is when I decided to be accountable again. I am now down about 25 lbs so I had to re-lose the 15 and managed another 10 so far. You have to weigh every day and be accountable to it!! you didn't go through everything you went through with weight loss surgery to settle. Your health and life are worth it! When we have a set back ....catch it quick and get back on track. :) Welcome back!

Yay for you and Chris getting back into fitness. There's something about being active that just makes your mental outlook much better. It's good to have your different perspective. I agree that the number on the scale shouldn't be the driving factor any more. Fitness and living in a healthy way is tough enough for many of us.

This was awesome! Seeing you back again with this outlook is just wonderful. I agree that when we get started we're so focused and forget that we have lives. I reached a point in my videos that I would just say did I meet "goal" maybe not. But my real goal was to be active, to be out, to participate in life, and I got that. That was what was really important not numbers.

I couldn't agree more about the community and self pressure to "succeed" we are not failures. it's a life long battle and there are lots of ups, downs, and intermissions. I'm so glad your back! the scale drives so many and tends to be the only measurement some use. as we get further out it makes things suddenly so hard for people. I like numbers but I'm more focused on how I'm going to change and live that change the rest of my life. figuring out my brain and why I think the way I do. I've been as Liz puts it "Old fat" I've been heavy since I was in third grade. there are a few of us working on our shit and not just focused on the scale. I'm so glad to have another in the group 💗.

So happy to see you back! I have been starting to think about making videos again too, because I have had some interesting things happen post wls. I have a different outlook on everything. I don't want to put myself out there as a "failure" but I'm hoping to get the courage to share my story, because it's turned (turning) out to be something far different than I had ever imagined it would be.

And I commented before I even watched (still watching ATM), but you're definitely spot on with how I feel about body positivity and learning to accept myself for me during every moment.

tatoo and shoulders look awesome. new gym and back to weights, exciting! :) for me weight is a tool I use to judge if my food intake is too high or low to move me in the direction I want to move in that particular month. also for water intake and to see I'm I'm carbed up enough for a bike ride or leg day! So I often adjust day to day or week to week based on that number depending on where it is and what I have planned. The number itself is meh, not so important! I still get a little upset if the number doesnt make sense or if someone mentions their weight/clothing size and its 'better' than where I'm at. but I shake it off pretty quickly.

I have a happy place with my number but it's sure as shit not where I thought it was going to be...but I never set that number goal in the beginning. I think it's different for the higher BMIers. I started at 345 as my highest known weight but I *know* it was higher than that. I think there's a perspective difference. I stopped making videos probably around the same time out as you did for about the same reasons you did. I hit my low weight (195) when had my plastics for a hot minute, bounced back up a bit during recovery with my weight, and now I'm not really sure what I have to say about that other than I'm not thrilled but I'm not sobbing in a corner either. I never really hit a "goal" number but I do like what you're preaching about setting non scale goals. It's more about how I'm feeling now and how I see myself now than a number. Perspective is an interesting thing!
