"The MMF struggle bus" Thats not what I was expecting when I started watching this. I thought I was about to listen to this gorgeous woman talk about MMF threesomes (meaning two bisexual men and a woman) and the inherent struggles with them.

Isn't it tragic that we can be predominantly preoccupied with our weight throughout our lives? Is this our story? To be freed of those bonds would allow us to fulfil our potential. Only we can resolve our sugar addictions and 'complete' our empty holes and do what we need to do to self care. How do we do this without surgery? What alternatives might work for you?

Nice to see a new video, my surgeons office has brought up revision (they called it that) /conversion surgery. I have some severe. I did have an upper GI and I have to do the Nutrition/psych appointment but I think they said RNY because reflux. But due to ins I need another appointment to really talk about it.. so I relate to possible conversation surgery. I never thought I'd be thinking about it.. thanks for an update I wish you well!

I am 5 yrs out of gastric bypass surgery, and your videos is what I looked at. They really helped and kept me motivated. Thank you for your openess and honesty. My highest was 350lbs and my lowest was 230. My goal is 200lbs, actually 190lbs.........IF that is possible. Lol. I regained and went up to 260lbs. In mid Oct of 2018 I decided to try Keto diet. Girllll.....I lost 16 lbs in 2weeks, and and overall loss of 26 lbs in 2mts. Guess what? Since coming off keto for 2 weeks for Christmas, I gained 5 lbs, but quickly lost it in a week. Now I am stuck at 235lbs for 2weeks. The inches are coming off though, but this obsession with the scale is driving me nuts. Will you consider keto. I feel great. Would you consider a full length pic so we could see where you are now before you do revision surgery. Lots of love from the Caribbean.

I wonder if she got the by pass surgery. I started to have the same problems with my sleeve GERD was one of them but I don’t regret getting the sleeve,to be honest with you it was my fault cause many times I went to bed full and that’s not good,but I was working the Night Shift,funny story is when I lost the weight I was in a dead relationship that ended when I found the love of my life and got merry ganed almost half of my weight back and so lucky that my husband don’t care,and it kills me because I really want to lose the weight again,also we are moving back to my country where my husband wants to retire in Mexico were I got my surgery also,this is a long reply sorry.

@@shirlynssleeve4661 Loved your love story🙂 but you know the funny thing is my husband doesn’t care about me gaining the weight back and that’s not good, he’s such a wonderful soul that he doesn’t care how I look, anyways I hope you and I find a way to get back on track ,although at one time I became or I made myself become a pescatarian and it really really helped me, hey Shirlyn you know what I’ve been doing out of desperation if we eat a hamburger Or any kind of bread I hollow the inside of the bread and I throw it away I wish I would’ve thought about that long time ago and it was just me I didn’t see it anywhere I just thought about it ok you try to do that first try not to consume too much carbs, because I don’t want to get too full. It’s always a constant fight to drink more water because you know how it is I’d rather eat than drink,please try not to eat a drink at the same time and I don’t drink sodas. Hey when I go to Mexico I’m gonna get checked out all of dad that is bothering me on my chest I’m so scared girl,but listen I really never contact anybody on KZbin but be nice to get in touch and support each other ok. I’m going to Mexico I think you’re going to Mexico too aren’t you? Maybe I’m wrong I thought that was what you said on your comment, anyhow if you wanna leave me any message over here hey feel free, I don’t even know if you have a channel🤣🤣 because I wanted to tell you all about my doctor because I called them back this is in Mexico I called him back because he did such a great surgery that I wanted to see if I can get a revision or something but my Gerd is so bad The first thing I’m gonna do when I’m in Mexico is find out if I have a hernia first because I don’t know I’m really bad right now and my passport took forever to get over here even though I’m from Mexico I want in my password from here USA it’s a long story. OK have a good one Sherling keep in touch.By the way we’re moving to it’s not Cancun but it’s near Cancun bye-bye girl. Didn’t you said you’re going to Mexico too? maybe I’m wrong, okay girl take care of yourself and happy Easter. Feeling more comfortable at a higher weight is an interesting topic. I originally had a sleeve that was converted to an RNY due to a few different reasons, but at a certain point in my weight loss, I think I kind of self sabotaged and it was at a point where when I looked in the mirror I didn’t feel like I was looking at “me” anymore. I can’t seem to get under that weight and I think it’s a long more about a mental block than physically not being able to lose the weight.

When I had my rny in 2006 we had the choice of DS or rny. I know many many ds folks long term out and they never mention their gas. It’s not bad unless they eat lots of carbs from what I’ve heard. Much ado about nothing. They probably mentioned the DS because of your history of being a conversion and higher bmi to start. DS usually mentioned only for bmis above 60. Much harder to get in. Ontario than any other surgery. My only concern would be that it would do nothing for your reflux.

I'm confused as to why they would recommend a possible DS if the reason for surgery is reflux and iron issues. I have a modified DS and I would think it would not only not help but could make them much worse. Sounds like they aren't listening to you.

Hi Sarah, I’m from Quebec, I had my vsg same year as you and have been having low iron on and off since but this last year more so, also really bad GERD, went back to my surgeon, the doctor found I had a surplus production of bile that was causing my gerd, but assured me my surgery had nothing to do with the low iron... had all kids of test done with no results as to why, so he suggested a revision to fix gerd, I really wanted to get the DS but the new improved one which is called the SADI, the connection of the intestine are a bit higher so there’s a lot less side effects.. anyway my doctor said I couldn’t get because of the gerd.... so I just got my revision to rny the 15th nov after 8 month waiting :)... I’m on feramax capsules, 3 a day... I’m eager to see how my blood work comes out in a month... wish you luck...

Absolutely great to see you again. I too went to MX & told peeps it was my "weightcation" but after I got back not before (didn't want the negative feedback). Only drawback is I don't have local follow up care. I tried to book an appointment but they won't see me (think they're afraid of me talking about MX) as I didn't have surgery w/them. Here in the US insurance companies dictate medical care which I bypassed. Good luck on your revision!

You need the rny pouch to stop the acid reflux. Then...ask for a more malabsorptive version...medial malabsorption would be a compromise. I started as a proximal (short) rny, and was updated to a distal rny by a ds surgeon. Cookielu went from vsg to ds as did Renee Bands. [email protected].

Hi Sarah. I had revision to RNY 2 months ago. I had horrible reflux 2 after my VSG and Now I haven’t had one single reflux episode. I also lost 16 lbs in 2 months since the revision surgery. It’s very slow weight loss very different than vsg but it does come off. I have more restriction than with vsg so I’m glad for that too. I’m very happy I did it. My insurance covered it and my doctor even rushed the surgery date because I had 100 percent acid burning my throat and coming up through my nose. DS wasn’t offered to me cuz my doctor doesn’t do them. If you have any questions I can answer all you need to know!

Hi Rosie. Hoping you can answer a few questions. I’m also in the same boat. Have an appointment this week with my surgeon to talk about the GERD issues. Like Sarah, I’ve been on PPIs since VSG 5 years ago and I’ve not been successful getting off the PPIs. What insurance do you have and what pre-op tests did they require before they’d approve the conversion? Thanks much!
@rosiesleeve4468

Coleen Cee Hello! Thank you for asking me these questions cuz I couldn’t find anyone on KZbin to help me when I was going through this whole process! If I can tell you the truth here.....I was really bad off. I had pure 100 percent acid regurgitating through every opening that it could possibly go through. It was really severe. I had acid coming through my throat, nose and eyes. It was weird and sooooo bad. I have Medicaid. I live in the Northeast United States. Call your insurance company and ask about their coverage for RNY conversion is Bariatric surgery. My Medicaid is United Healthcare- Community Plan. The gastric specialist doctor I saw when I was originally inquiring about revision was skeptical about RNY revision. He said “Oh, you just want to lose more weight, are you sure your reflux is “true” reflux”??? He was so skeptical about my complaints. However, after the endoscopy he ordered to check my acid level, he told me when I woke up from anesthesia to schedule a RNY ASAP cuz my acid content was so severe. Complete acid coming up my throat. You have to have severe acid reflux for any insurance to completely approve it.
@rosiesleeve4468
@rosiesleeve4468 5 жыл бұрын
Oh, by the way....I was on PPi’s forever too.....they didn’t help at all. If you have true acid regurgitation......it will eventually cause Barrett’s Esophagus.... which can cause Alzheimer’s disease and esophageal cancer. So many people are on these acid meds without knowing that it’s not a permanent fix. Bypass is the only true cure. Trust me.
@coleencee1198
@coleencee1198 5 жыл бұрын
Rosie Sleeve thanks sooo much for the info Rosie. My GERD doesn’t seem as severe as yours, but I don’t want to be on PPIs forever. That class of drug causes other problems. I want the conversion if it’ll “cure” this. I don’t have additional weight to lose. I’ve done well maintaining my weight, but this reflux is interfering in many areas of my life and I can’t stand it. 🤢. My email is [email protected] if you’d like to keep in touch!

That comment was ridiculous. First, the poster clearly has no idea what the definition of clinical narcissism actually is and should consider doing their homework before running at the mouth. Second, this is KZbin for crying out loud, NOT your life. It is merely one small thing that you do in your life. Perhaps the poster should get the hell off of social media since they clearly can’t handle being on it and get far too invested in letting it turn their world upside down as a spectator. I’ve watched literally thousands of videos, before, during and after my surgery and I remain glad to have had access to them over the course of time. I’ve often considered posting videos and doing just as you’ve done; paying it forward and maybe addressing a concern for someone not as far along in their process. I think the content has value and believe most of appreciate the transparency and knowledge passed on.
