Can a pragmatist use both exploratory cross sectional design and mixed method Design in his research or he is limited to mixed method Design

Hello Stephen, pragmatists uses more than two paradigms (Qn and Ql). However, you also have to remember that we have multi-method approaches where we can use more than two designs from the same paradigm (i.e. 2 QN) or (2 QL). In a MMR, you do not need to have cross sectional and MMR because you can incorporate cross-sectional in MMR or Multi-method approach.

Hello Martha. Thank you for your kind comment. Methodology is not an element but it is one way of differentiating research approaches. Though different approaches uses different Methodologies, it does not qualify to be a philosophical assumptions because there is no paradigm emanating from it
