Today we sing such unscriptural, out of context hymns. This is a great tragedy. Song writers pick and choose what verses of Psalms to sing. They only sing the flowery verses, and stop short of singing the entire psalm in context. For example, Maranatha singers have a song by the name of Psalm 5. But they only sing the first few verses of that Psalm because those verses trickle the ears. But when it comes to God's views of sin and the sinner - They don't sing that. Hundreds of years of such practices have led to GREAT corruption within the church. Surely, Isaac Watts did a great deal of damage. I marvel at how we, as Christians always say we need to be Biblical. But as time goes on, we get further, and further away from the Biblical ways. We need to get back to the way it originally was in the Bible - We need to sing the Psalms, the whole Psalms. And nothing but the Psalms.

So, according to you, we must not sing our worship of God and His great New Testament, the whole gospel message??? Wow.

@@KennethNicholson1972 There is no such thing as "His great New Testament". Rather that is a construct of men who desires to dismiss the Torah. Often times perverting Paul's letters in order to justify lawlessness.
