Sometimes, I want to do this to people who say that reading so much doesn't let me experience life. Like, I understand that I have to talk to people and interact with the world, but that doesn't mean that I don't learn some of the most important life lessons in stories.
@hugenerd974 жыл бұрын
Agreed! I’ve seen this tick tok that said people who read are just people who are more naive and easy to manipulate, but it’s literally the opposite. Whoever thinks that hasn’t read a single book since like, The Cat and the Hat. Books are what helped my innocence slip off and helped me become aware that life is more than just puppies and rainbows. They helped me not be too naive and gullible, and honestly, I’m sort of cynical at times in a trademark sarcastic me sort-of-way. It’s dumb that anyone would think books make you more naive and teach you nothing about the real world. Hades knows that I never would’ve learned any of the really important things from my family or my small private Catholic school or even my friends. Nope, that all came from reading.

Two or three things I disagree with, but that's alright. These lessons have shaped my life into who I am. To add my own lessons, things I've learned. It IS ok to give up on blood family, if someone is hurting you, physically, mentally, emotionally, it's ok to cut them out of your life. Sometimes chosen family can be just as toxic or abusive as given family, it could take a few tries to get it right. Trauma never goes away; it will stick with you until the day you die, all you can do is learn to cope with it.

@hugenerd974 жыл бұрын
That’s sorta subjective, but I’d say Nico. There are definitely characters that have much sadder backstories than people think or remember (remember Gabe? Abusive stepfather extraordinaire?), but overall, I think Nico had the saddest life. He’s from a different time period, his father is known as sort of the outcast from the Olympians, Hades said to his face that he liked Bianca better, his only family died when he was 10 and his crush was the one to tell him, he had to suffer through all the confusing feelings he had about Percy, he had a rough time excepting his sexuality, especially since gay people were persecuted in the 30s, he went through Tartarus _alone,_ he’s been heavily involved in all three series, but never a main part that got a lot of credit, he’s legit still only like 13 or 14 as of Trials of Apollo, and more.
