Lessons. What is a mother if her son cannot survive? And decluttering.

In this update on spending time getting used to the death of my son Costya a few months ago from drug and alcohol abuse, I talk of night time thoughts, like what is a mother if her son dies? Paradoxically, in the doing nothing mode, I am planning a great deal.

Sadly our lives are never linear ... nor are they promised to any of us. I think we all make choices based on our personalities. I cannot function if there is chaos or drama. As soon as a situation escalates out of control my instinct is to leave, or give in and agree so I can feel safe and comfortable again. Addiction in any form is a beast to overcome. Unfortunately not everyone can be helped or wants help. I am sorry for your loss! I wish you peace of mind in knowing that you did the best you could given the situation.
