Works from faith Prayers are fruits or works ? How is praying fruit or works according to scripture. Fruit: you can not bear FRUIT but by Jesus, abide In Jesus. "Believe in the father, believe in me", Jesus. (book of John ). Be a model of good works.(Titus). Jesus & imager of God. 2 Cor 4.4. jesus is the image of god Roman 8:29 conform to the image of his son Colossian 3:10 renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 2 Cor 3:18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image. (veil off the face of Jesus in the tomb, John 20:7). We are imagers to believers and unbelievers...embassadors of christ to other imagers and non imagers or impart. 2 Cor. 5:20 Not creating images of christ, living people or beasts. Our santification through faith as imagers of christ. God works in us and through us in faith. We are the imagers of Christ. We should not need created images of living beings made with hands but show others through our love for one another and good deeds in the church first and to non believers. (Book of Acts). If the spirit of God lives in the believer, why pray to anyone else but to the most high. Why by pass the holy spirit in us and try to reach him by prayers to others ? Who santifies, God or others ? Hail, do I pray, worship or do good works to a tree, the universe, the sun, false gods, money or dead people etc? Certainly not, for this is done by non believers or partial believers and I am now in Christ. Why would I go back and keep crucifying Christ ! (Hebrews 6:6). Is praying a form of worship or a form of works through faith. At the crucifiction, The veil of the Jewish temple was torn open, (Matthew 27:51) and 40 years later the Jerusalem temple was then destroyed. Only the priests had access in the Temple. (Book of Leviticus). Well, the most high made it clear, he no longer wants these kinds of temples and priests as mediators. We have direct access to the thrown of God, no more veils and no more priests. But yet some call themsekves priest and act as mediatos : arw not these dead works of the alliance. My wedding alliance is to Christ. At the well Jesus said, "one day people will not worship on mountains but in spirit: (John 4:21-24). Notice that He does not say worship to the spirits, angels or sons of God, because we are temples individually and collectively. (1 Cor. 6:19). We can proclaim we are the new mountains (temples) in us. It may explain when Jesus said, you can move mountains ! (Matthew 17:20, Mark 11:23-24). Through out the Bible, places of worship of gods were on mountains or high places. We glorify you Lord for all who received you as their savior and leading light this Easter season all over the world. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 A friend priest of ours from Paris called to wish Happy Easter today told us 6000 people received baptism and confirmed in France 🇫🇷 yesterday on Easter vigil .🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 we multiply when we are persecuted… 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 No other joy than receiving all of you brothers and sisters to the Catholic faith and praying for you all to be strong and faithful in this spiritual journey. May God bless them and special gratitude to Bishop Barron to be an instrument for many to return to our CatholicChurch. 🙏🏽 God bless us all on this Easter and Always . 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🇺🇸💐💐💐💐

When I was going through RCIA preparing for baptism I was scared some friends or family would call me a "Jesus freak"... now if someone calls me a Jesus freak thats the highest complement I could ever hope to get! 😊🎉 Happy Easter everyone.

Have you read the book Jesus Freaks by voice of the martyrs and dc talk? It chronicles those who stood firm in their faith. Love it. It’s my favourite book apart from the bible.

As a young man, I found that Christianity was weird and laughed at it, now, l find, after years of study, that Christianity is weird and celebrate it, and, pray for Forgiveness! Thank you Bishop.

Yes, me too. Fundamentalists (and anyone who over-ritualizes*) tend to self-caricaturize themselves particularly well. This feeds atheistic tendencies. * "Over-ritualize" - what is it? A definition here/now is hard, but-like the judge said about pornography-"I know it when I see it." Consider the irony of the combination: fundamentalists & ritualists. (At least in Christianity context.) These are 2 ends of a spectrum: Fundamentalists avoid rituals. Ritualists lose sight of fundamentals.

Watching this the morning I after having been baptised and confirmed in the Catholic Church! I'm not sure if you will see this Bishop, but you played a massive role in my conversion. Works from faith Prayers are fruits or works ? How is praying fruit or works according to scripture. Fruit: you can not bear FRUIT but by Jesus, abide In Jesus. "Believe in the father, believe in me", Jesus. (book of John ). Be a model of good works.(Titus). @@kut2459why would anyone agree with your hopeless outlook on existence, and your one-sided view of Jesus Church. Each generation has to make sense of things for themselves, with the influences of good and bad that are inevitably intertwined. I don't know if you are of another breakaway group of Christianity, or an out and out atheist, but I could refer you to numerous videos that could prove to you more eloquently of the reality of the supernatural, and nearly always connected to God's Church.

Indeed, let Christianity be weird: No other religion has a central figure who rises from the dead and brings life. It is revolutionary, and its effects continue to make an impact as we open ourselves to the radical transformation of Christ's Resurrection bringing us to our own resurrections and new life, which we experience in part now. We truly transform the world by how we proclaim the Resurrection with our lives. Christ is Risen and lives in us! Alleluia! A Happy, Blessed, Holy, and Joyful Easter Season to one and all.

Let us not also forget that governor Pilate wrote real life letters to Emperor Tiberius describing Jesus and the massive influence he was having over the local people in Judea. There are undeniable historical artifacts that point to Jesus of Nazareth and the impact of his greatness among the local Jews!

Excellent sermon, Bishop Baron. Truly, Christianity is so weird that it changes every society that embraces it. And how does it do it? By transforming every individual who embraces the Christ who died for our sins and, in rising again, provided all those who believe in Him the hope of eternal life. We should pray that God continues His revolution in our own lives and culture while praying that our persecuted brothers and sisters may prove to be more than conquerors through Him who loves them and us.

Reminds me of when I returned after 30+ years of atheism. I had started to read the _Anglo-Saxon Chronicles,_ a pre-Norman history of England. It was a pretty spotty affair. Some courtier would take up the task and write things down, but then no one took up the work _for generations_ - it is full of 50-100 year lapses. Contrast that with the Bible. Contrast the multiple, largely consistent sources of both the New _and_ Old Testaments. It is really remarkable.

My Mother was Catholic my Father was Protestant, and we never went to church growing up. I always wanted to know about Jesus but my Mother didn't have a lot of info for me. I tried reading a Bible but couldn't make sense of it. One day in 1971 living in the Bay Area California I went to a friend's house and met her Aunt who was a Hippie type, that looked to me like her face was glowing. I couldn't stop looking at her. Finally she spoke and started talking about Jesus, who He was and more importantly, who He IS and how He was alive and I could know Him now! I was blown away. I was 14 years old and met my Lord and Savior and was born again! Talk about Christianity being weird! People called us Jesus Freaks and there were many Hippies that met Jesus and their lives were radically changed. Back then we would hitchhike to different churches and witness to the people who picked us up. At the church there were people who sat on the floor barefoot and worshipping our Jesus. I saw many amazing things happen back then. My parents were scared of me and now I could pick up the Bible where suddenly I read it with understanding as the Holy Spirit opened up the meaning of it all, even with Old English. We the church, the body of Christ have become too comfortable in our little pews. We look like the world, we don't take a stand and become the weird you're speaking of. We allowed the world to close our churches, we obeyed man rather than God. There were a few brave men of God who refused. We need to wake up, the world doesn't need people like them, they need our radical, yet living Jesus to shine. No more entertaining, no more compromise, people need to know they are a sinner in need of a savior. That is when they come to Him.

Our pension plans were frozen then terminated and we can receive a lump sum which is more than enough and an answer to my prayers however we can’t receive it until the Fall. I'm very happy that so many people received the Baptism and the others sacraments on the last Vigil! God bless all that said yes to He's love! So many comments of many people saying the same. The Jesus Christ's Church is beautiful. And, as Bishop Barron said, lets christianity be weird! Aleluia! Aleluia!

Happy Easter to you too Bishop Barron and thank you for your sermon (and all of your work)! I found your message recently after your appearance on Jordan Peterson's podcast and later after your amazing elaboration of Dante's Divine Comedy on the Art of Manliness Podcast. This is all very instrumental for me to get reacquainted with Christianity on a deeper level. It feels as if I'm rewatching a movie I saw as a child but wasn't conscious enough to get all the subliminal messages and implications. Now I'm able to see them and it's powerful. I appreciate greatly your help in this!

Agree. Our culture has attempted to tame Christ with nice jewelry, cute nativity scenes, pine trees with ornaments, when what really happened turned the Roman Empire on its head and set a fire in the hearts of the first disciples

Your take on Roman crucifixion and the faithful wearing Crosses, has a brought to mind the custom and practices of another revolutionary group; American bikers. On the vast spectrum of the motorcycle community are the bikers (think Easy Rider) who during the post war period all the way through into the 21st century would wear Nazi helmets. This practice struck me as a form of acknowledgment as acceptance of Aryan superiority. I later learned that what was a sign of victory & triumph. By wearing the helmets of the enemy these bikers are saying that we the people, the bikers & riders, reject this ideology and we are free to repurpose it for a greater good. Thank you again Bishop Barron for posting this video & your thoughtful sermon.🙏

Only recently did it dawn on me how weird it is that God should tell us to eat His flesh and drink His blood. Just think how weird, possibly in a very dark way, that might sound to someone who has never heard of Christianity before. And yet, as Christians, we experience the Eucharist as the epitome of all that is good and wholesome and light.

On the cross, God put His love for us ahead of His own life. Through the power of His resurrection, are we not also resurrected? Any other outcome would be illogical. Either God’s love is stronger than death or it isn’t. Only God’s love united to the power of His divine life can act as a ground for our immortality. Levi Shalom
