This looks DOPE!! One remark on the proportions, though: the pilots’ arms are supposedly crossed in front of them, mummy-style. Neither here nor there, once I get my hands on a pile of bits that can facilitate this, I’m absolutely giving it a shot.

I mean it makes sense, the suit hooks into the Marines existing Power Armor, which in and of itself is already hooked into THEM via the Black Carapace so...technically they wouldn't even need to move their arms, they just THINK of moving the arms and the suits arms move. Its like how MJLONIR in Halo allows the wearer to enter full body paralasys to pilot a vehicle.
@Infinityhammerpainting4 жыл бұрын
And if you look at the shoulder pads that have sculpted insignia on them, the centurions marking are two crossed fists - indicating that they have their arms crossed in the breastplate 🙂

Taken from the Warhammer Wiki page : "Once connected into the warsuit, the accepted battle position is for a Space Marine's hands to be crossed against the front of his chest, behind the torso-plate and the suit's secondary weapons, for he controls the vehicle with his thoughts." So to say its out of proportion and needs adjusting isn't correct :D

Indeed. IIRC another commenter mentioned this to me as well. And so the arm criticism doesn't carry that narrative weight, only aesthetic merit. In any case, I appreciate that you've taken the time to share this comment!

I dig what you've done with the legs, which is more than I can say for most Centurion Conversions I've seen. But you and Laz are wrong about the part with the arms at 1:40. Centurion arms aren't manually operated. The pilot's arms are crossed across their chest, and they control the suit's arms through neuro controls. So having the chest guns is fine, as the arms don't need to fit though it. They are just servos mounted on the sides of the hull.
@WhatThe40k4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. And you are totally correct about centurion arm control, someone else pointed that out as well XD

What did you use as large gap filler? And what was that bracket you used for the mounted gun?
@WhatThe40k3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply, IIRC the gap filler I used is tamiya liquid cement that has had bits of sprue added, and the mount for the gun was built using I think necron weapon options. 🤐

Luckily saw your video before I assembled my centurions. What is your gap filler? Plastic/sprues and plastic glue but how?

The plastic glue I use is Tamiya's extra thin cement. So the sprue bits get dropped in the bottle.

I spotted blue plastic in the beginning shot, wondering if the push fit Intercessors will work for this? There's three of them and it'd be much cheaper...
@WhatThe40k5 жыл бұрын
Keen eye you got there. Yes, for the conversion I used the 3 man ETB intercessors. But I swapped 1 with a spare Primaris body I had because I thought the 3rd ETB legs were a little too close together.

What about using a hurricane bolter sponson from a land raider? Or would that just look goofy?
@WhatThe40k5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, it would be too large, some options on vehicles are on a completely different scale, but strangely possess the same profile (see Heavy Bolters on infantry vs a Predator tank). Just one of those gamey things I guess...
@sigmundholt23135 жыл бұрын
@@WhatThe40k thanks for getting back to me; that makes sense. never owned a landraider or really handled a crusader so I wasn't sure. I'm with you on the anatomy of the armor not working, but I can't get over how easily breakable that hurricane bolter conversion looks (I can hear the bits going everywere in my mind). Can't wait to break out my Chubby double-armor boys and build them up like this; will just want to play around with hurricane bolter concepts. *update: while looking up some other conversions I found a good use for the bit that goes over the part of the torso being cut off, having the two sections mounted similar to your gattling bolter.*
@WhatThe40k5 жыл бұрын
@@sigmundholt2313 Happy to help how I can :) The shoulder mounted gatling bolter I have holds surprisingly well. This is because the mechanical arm is mounted via magnet, and there is an armature (painted black) that runs into the exhaust of the model. A concession I am fine with for the aesthetic.
@Dasp2445 жыл бұрын
Did you use the easy to build intercessors? Looking to do this conversion
@WhatThe40k5 жыл бұрын
I actually used the ETB intercessors for 1 of them. But I had some spare Primaris bodies a Hellblaster and MMP Intercessor IIRC. I opted for them because I liked their leg positions better.
@Dasp2445 жыл бұрын
WhatThe40k ah gotcha! I was debating on getting the etb ones for the conversion (you did an excellent job on the conversion, they look so good) because they’re cheap and I don’t need all the extra bits after, but would you recommend just going the extra mile and getting the intercessor box?
@WhatThe40k5 жыл бұрын
@@Dasp244 thanks!! I think it makes it easier having more leg options for the posing. As some of the ETBs legs were too close together for my liking. Although I think its possible to get it done using only the ETBs. IIRC, what I found was that the more different the rubric marines legs are from the centuirons, the more alterations the leg hydraulics require.
