“why do we only romanticize our teenage years when we can also be romanticizing our 20s as well?” you’re so right, this reminded me of a tweet that said something like “there’s no timeline for happiness and i mean this sincerely because the world’s obsession with youth is so nauseating. you will experience joy and love and moments of tenderness in your adulthood” it takes some time, but i hope more people realize that magical moments and feelings don’t end once your high school years are over, if anything, you enter a wonderful stage of shaping who you are and learning so, so many new things “friendships come in seasons” not even going to lie to you, this part made me cry. i’m currently going through a friendship breakup, which hurts like hell, but i’ll be remembering these words to have some type of comfort, thank you

I’m only five minutes in and you’ve already given me so much to think and write about later that I can’t contain it. You’ve given me so much more confidence and validation in how I’ve felt in friendships , being the initiator and never knowing if it was okay or if I had bad friends as well as my transition from missing my teenage years to being in my 20’s, I’ve also recently gotten over it quite a bit and sometimes I truly wonder in thought and laugh about how being a teenager was and how it’s shaped me today.

I just recently went through my "first" crush. I would call it a first because I have had some before. But it was not as strong as this one. Honestly, at first, it feels amazing but in the end, it feels horrible. Because you'd like to confess your feelings but end up scared of rejection. So it is easier to keep fantasizing about it... Not a good idea. Haven't gotten much sleep.

I relate so heavily to the initiator situation. Some people may think that introverts, like myself, would want to be alone all the time. Don’t get me wrong, I do like to socially recharge. However, that’s only really the case when I hang out with people that I’m not close to. I crave connection and emotional intimacy with my friends. I think most people are just so used to seeing each other in person every day at school and don’t know how to stay connected when it’s not convenient. My closest friends are all separated by distance at different colleges while I remained in my hometown out of necessity. The thought of making new friends is terrifying to me. I feel like I simply don’t know how. Anywho, please check in on your friends who usually initiate or make plans. It would mean way more than you think.

I feel the same way about crushes and romance, I swear I’m a hopeless romantic but then I get so tired of talking to people literally after a few messages and I end up ghosting guys cause the interest just goes away. i can relate SO MUCH to dustin's opinion on talking stages. sure, it can give you a lot of fun and excitement at times. but when it fails, you know that you have to go through getting to know another person all over again, and it can get exhausting!

We literally have the same emotions and goals 😭🤚🏽 like I have been in love with someone for more than 4 years and my god it’s literally a rollercoaster. I never thought I would have those emotions until like 1 year ago I realized like wait… I’m in love. As for friends I only really have one closest friend. I’m starting to talk to other people but hopefully it’s something I can do as well as be present because I’m there but I never engage in social events so it’s something I need to work on. i definitely need ta try living in the moment. grow up with the internet i think has made me think that taking videos and photos of everything and then sharing it in social media is living in the moment. went to a concert and barely remembered it. i was to busy trying to capture everything that i forgot to look, to enjoy, and to live in that moment. one of my goals for the future is to just enjoy those moments! love you dustin!!

movie to cry to: portrait of a lady on fire. it's a french lesbian period piece about an artist doing an engagement portrait. it's slow paced, but it's so fucking worth it. it made me cry twice in the last thirty minutes. it's also visually stunning and won best screenplay at Cannes. if you want something happy to cry to, i recommend when harry met sally lol
