First off, LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Secondly, you may want to look into the origin of the word you used to describe being cheated while you were talking about the deli meat slices. I had used that word my whole life and had no idea until a few years ago when I typed it out and it had a red squiggle under it telling me I had spelled it wrong so I looked it up to see how to spell it and OMG. I had no idea that was how it was spelled or why people say that. It has just always been said in our culture.. it's even on the Simpsons and Seinfeld and a lot of other media. It was in a book I was required to read in high school... Not trying to make you feel bad.. just that if it were me I would hope someone would tell me instead of letting me keep saying it. You may decide it's not necessary to stop saying it.. that's up to you. But I thought you should at least know. Sorry if this was depressing. I'm depressing. Ugh. :/ really hard for me to post this even cuz i don't want you to feel sad lol... UGH
@catherineburke53892 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve always wondered what the origins were but the colloquial spelling threw me off too...just did a quick google search and am *very* glad I stopped saying it. Lastly...You’re not depressing; that was the kindest delivery of sensitive information I’ve seen in a hot minute. The internet needs more people like you 😁💚

I've heard this too but tbh I wash them every time and it's fine lol. I cook them for a long time anyway. Is it common in the US to wash mushrooms? Cause... in Germany you don't do it. You brush the dirt off, if anything... ^^;;;; When you wash them, yes, they will absorb a lot of water like a sponge, which changes their texture and waters down their taste.
