If you'd like to, try adding the tomato paste after you've let your veg sweat a bit. It'll brown and caramelize, which will intensify the flavor. Anyway, love your videos, your soups, your humor. 💜

Once you froth milk especially cappuccino style like you did (ie - a LOT of froth) you need to swirl it continuously before pouring it into your cup otherwise the froth and the steamed milk will separate FAST. Basically just pour it into your drink quickly! I'm a barista :)
@sophiaconti16723 жыл бұрын
also pro tip for u Em!!! for tomato paste it seems a lot of recipes suggest u fry/sautéed it? it helps deepen the flavour when it has that more direct heat i suppose? I usually sauté my veg, push them to the side, add a little oil the the bare spot in the pan and then the tomato paste and stir it up a little and then incorporate it into the veg, then add the broth and it seems to give it a richer flavour. hope u try this out!!! 💗
@ComradeBlinkyUwu3 жыл бұрын
You are totally right, the heat makes the natural sugars caramelize and adds depth of flavour and cuts down the bitterness.

I made a meal last night that my dad used to make for my brother and I as kiddos. Its called "rice stuff" and is made of rice, beef, white onions, garlic, and oil. I made it vegan and subbed the meat for an impossible patty that I crumbled, then added spinach, paprika, and nooch. It always amazes me how comforting flavors can be! It brought me way back to childhood and really satisfied my hunger!! Quick, filling, and plenty leftovers for easy meals throughout the week!

When I make scambled tofu I mix a tsp or so of cashew butter with water until it has the constosteny of cream and put it in with the tofu (if it's too liquidy you can just let some of the water evaporate). It helps to make it less crumbly and also with the flavour. I also add nutmeg 👌

Add diced potatoes and boil until shells and potatoes are good. 😊😊😊😊

I'm always impressed with how clean your kitchen is. I always have to film in a way that hides the stove vent/fan thingy because it's disgusting! My fan doesn't even ventilate because whoever put it in didn't bother to actually put in a vent! So the grease or smoke just blows around and collects on everything. 😝

breakfast tacos for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With corn tortillas. Just throw in everything you put on the scramble. One of my favorites. Also, griddle the tortillas a little. (frozen cookie crumbs can make a pie crust, like a graham cracker crust)
@Sarah-xz4li3 жыл бұрын
I've been making scramble most days for awhile now and I've really perfected it!! I use regular firm tofu and then just salt, pepper, and light amounts of black salt, turmeric, and nutritional yeast for seasoning during the cooking process and then after it's on my plate I add extras like pepper flakes or paprika. I think adding too much seasoning during the cooking process absorbs more liquid and can kinda dry it out and also eggs don't taste like much in the first place
@Bella-tw9sq3 жыл бұрын
you use black salt during cooking!? i always heard it was best to add it at the very end. thank you for sharing this recipe!!

post-holidays freezable cookie/treats hack: I like to melt down any excess chocolate, stir it through any left over cookies that have been blnded in the food processor. In the UK we call this 'tiffin' - press the mixture into a tin, top with more melted choc and refridgerate to set. You can definitely add any other leftover bits: choc chips, vegan marshmallows, pretzels, salty crackers, fudge, candy canes etc to make a sort of rocky road situation. Cut into portions and place into a sealable container/freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months.

Best texture is still the extra firm, or softer "eggy" texture is medium, dont go softer than that or it wont be as good ! But the way i make mine is cook potatoes, then onions and mushrooms, (occasionally ill add vegan breakfast sausage, impossible spicy one is the best!) then crumble in tofu, add garlic salt, black pepper, sprinkle tumeric, red chili flakes, and if u have it, mrs dash onion and herb 🤤add bell peppers and spinach and the secret to a good eggy texture is honestly just a splash of water ! Like thats it! But oh man this is my go to breakfast w some buttery toast 🤤💖 my non vegan husband prefers it over his regular egg and hashbrown breakfast

I’ll add my preference just to add to peoples inspo - I love using smoked tofu! It all started when me and my girlfriend decided to make a trip to sprouts farmers market. We were bamboozled to see such an array of choices in produce and grocery items. We decided to pick up some artichokes, lemons, mushrooms, and a can of black beans. What we made will astound you. First we put some rice in our insta pot, the rice was filled with spices from around the world; turmeric, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and mushroom powder. Once that was done we filled the insta pot with water and much of the same spices. We cut all the thorns off of the artichokes and put them in the water to cook them to perfection. As that cooked it was time to make the beans and mushrooms. We put the beans in a pot and added veganaise, with some nutritional yeast, paprika, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. I like to call them (jakes famous beans) next we cut up the mushrooms and sauteed them in soy sauce. We added the mushrooms and the leftover mushroom sauce to the rice and ate the artichokes with melted vegan butter and lemon. BON APPETIT
