Hi Lindsay, I saw your comment on Shannon Green's video where she followed my Tutorial for making distressed wax paper. I thought I'd see what you did in your live stream. I can see that we did very different things....I totally distressed my paper first, then added wax with a small iron...it totally melted into the paper. Super yummy!! I like your more delicate approach. And on a card is a great idea. I just made vintage paper with mine for use as a Junk Journal cover. Fun to see everyone's methods, and Shannon's papers are awesome!!👍🥰 Hugs, Joie 💜🌿

Staples are so much fun! Don't forget that you can put them in an "x" configuration to make them look intentional as well! I dont think Avery makes their permanent glue sticks anymore. I went on their website to buy some and they sent me envelope glue sticks. You can find the big Avery glue sticks at the dollar tree sometimes, but they say they're washable. My Mum used to do those rag curls when I was young. I loved them so much because I have always had dead straight hair. I did the same for my daughter when she was a similar age. She loved them just as much because her hair is as straight as mine. I have such fond memories of those rag curls so thanks for reminding me! :) I don't do hand pieced cards just design ones to cut on a cutting machine because I don't have the patience to fiddle with scissors and glue! I could never get into paper scrapbooking for the same reason. I ended up getting into Digital Scrapbooking instead which then lead into graphic design. I do enjoy watching you create the cards though. I love the idea of it, just not the practice!

Missed the live but enjoyed the replay. This was interesting watching each card develop. Nice to see that my craft area is not the only one that looks like an explosion took place while crafting. I’m constantly losing my scissors, a die, glue, tape, or whatever without even moving. I’ll be in a small area and know I had it two seconds before, so then I’m digging through everything trying to find the item I need knowing full well it did not get up and walk off.

I caught the second half earlier and now I’m coming back for the beginning. While I watch I’m going to set up and try out my new watercolor pallet! I just got back from San Diego Comic-Con and there was a Holbein booth there where the owner of the company comes every year and all the supplies are 50% off! I went a little crazy but I deserve it! 😆 I’m excited to set up my own custom pallet of watercolors. I bought a metal watercolor tin from Amazon, 28 full pans for $14.99. I think it’s good for the price but has a few scratches on the white mixing area but not in the way. Would you just leave it or paint over it to prevent rusting? Maybe use nail polish?

Great to see you card making again. Have a great week!

@@thefrugalcrafter Hi, Lindsay! Of course I have my notifications on, all bells and whistles ⏰🚨🔔 as a long time subscriber. However, I only get a notification once the live stream is on, but not before (since it is not pre-scheduled). If you schedule it in advance in your YT dashboard, your subscribers not only get a notification that it is happening on the scheduled date and time (YT even converts it to my own time zone 👌👍) we also see a specific "notify me" button for an extra alarm, which is activated a few minutes before the live stream starts. It sure if I am explaining this clearly so I found an article describing the process for YT creators, since I have no experience about handling the YT controls myself. beebom.com/how-schedule-livestream-youtube/

They are stickers from stationary pal. Check amazon too.
@nancyloomis30462 жыл бұрын
Stickers are so convenient for cards, but the flat stickers, well, they just look kind of cheap and kid-like (and they’re great for kids cards.) I think that is mostly bc they look like “stickers” and are too often printed on cheap, glossy paper. But early on in my card-making, for the most part, I stopped using all but the dimensional stickers. Rub-ons are a good alternative that look professional, but they can be tricky to fix if you didn’t get a 100% transfer. It’s funny, the difference between what looks “homemade” and very amateurish and “shabby” vintage or distressed can be a very thin line.

Dear Mrs. Lindsay, I have never tried paints that have honey. I am seriously considering buying M Graham and I know you love them! Since I only know of a couple, is there any lower priced honey paints? What does the honey do? Do they feel the same as say Winston and Newton? Please I trust your advice!
@grannysmithart2 жыл бұрын
Maimeriblu also uses honey as does Sennelier, i believe. The honey makes the paint softer and easier to rewet. I have M Graham paints, which i love. Some folks think they are too soft, its risky to store your palette on its side, keep it flat! Winsor and Newton are also good, but much drier and hard to rewet on the pallet.
@thefrugalcrafter2 жыл бұрын
To add to grannysmiths comment which is accurate, honey is a humectant to it draws moisture from the air so your paints may be too sticky for your liking in a humid enviroment but id you like in a desert or high altitude they will be helpful. If you are on a budget Sennelier often sells the 18 set on amazon in a tin for around $40. In the us a if you just want a nice paint on a budget try Davinci. I don't think it has honey but it's great paint.
