Although I personally prefer steel sprockets, with proper maintenance...Clean, proper alignment, chain tension, and lube often. Aluminum sprockets can perform as good as steel sprockets. I mean...without PROPER MAINTENANCE, even STEEL sprockets fail. And Im sure they use aluminum grade close to steel hardness for motorcycle sprockets.

Isn't the big advantage of an aluminum rear (larger) sprocket the reduction in rotational inertia? Basically less inertia = faster acceleration. Front sprocket has to be steel because the number of teeth is much less causing more stress per tooth. Same with going 520 over 525 chain.. less rotational inertia, faster accel. I'll stick with the stock 525 chain.. wrapped a chain once! Not fun.

So, the weight loss on a bike is a bad thing if your street riding only? Lighter the bike even by a few kilos, you'd be saving fuel cause your not pumping in as much fuel to get momentum. Isn't that a worthwhile saving all on it's own and yes, everything wears faster if you don't give enough TLC - Just common sense. Thanks for the video/review mate.

Why are you asking "6000 miles?" To answer that ridiculously stupid question he said "it still looks new after 6000 miles" meaning it will go much farther. So who cares if your sprocket is going on 24000 miles?
