Oh Watashi! I'm watching this at 6.30 in the morning and I'm getting hungry :) Such delicious food. I agree fully about using cast iron to bring the best flavours in beautiful food. I have some komatsuna seeds in our garden shed, so you have inspired me to sow them today. On the weekend we harvested some of our potatoes too. The harvesting season is starting well for us here in the Southern hemisphere. I wonder what you are doing with all the onion skins you collected in the bag? Did you know they make a lovely substantive dye colour on fabric? My favourites are silk and linen. Using the skins from red onions makes different shades. Have you tried this? The soaking water from the black beans is a lovely dye too but the colour is a bit more fugitive without a mordant. It's so great to see the two of you back making videos. I'm happy you had a gentle break over the New Year period. Thank you for sharing your days with us. 🙏

Oh you grow your own Komatsuna, that’s amazing!! I’m actually surprised as I think Komatsuna is very local vegetable. Onion skins, yes I’m thinking to use it for my next project! I’ve been saving for over 2 years I guess😂 I was working on fabric dyeing with several natural materials when I used to work for fashion brand and I really like it! It’s a beautiful process isn’t it. Since I tried natural dyeing for the first time and realised the beauty of natural colours I started to appreciate the nature around me much more! As I know you live with nature, you must enjoy so much of them, which is my dream life…!!🕊

Komatsuna is not always easy to buy as a vegetable, especially where we live, but the seeds can be bought from a couple of online stores. It's marketed as Mustard Green or Mustard Spinach. We're very lucky to be able to buy a large variety of vegetable seeds! Wow, you must have saved a huge amount of onion skins over two years! I look forward to seeing the results of what you make next. :) @@hige_to_watashi

I love your videos and find them relaxing and inspiring. A tip if you want to blend your veggies --use an immersion hand blender with metal stick. You can put it right into the hot pot of soup and blend away! Thank you for sharing your vlogs and have a happy new year. :)

Thank you for sharing such lovely recipes! I definitely want to try out your black bean soup! As a thank you, here is a soup I make called 1 Cup Soup: It's easy but REALLY good! You can cut the recipe in half for less soup (it makes a lot) 1 cup whole red lentils 1 cup carrots 1 cup celery 1 cup onion 9 cloves of garlic 6 cups of water 1 32 ounce can crushed tomatoes (or tomato puree is fine!) 3 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning 3 bay leaves Salt & pepper to taste 3 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar 2 handfuls of finely chopped greens (spinach or anything like spinach!) Directions: In a pot over medium heat, add some olive oil and butter then put in the onion, garlic, celery, and carrots along with the bay leaves and italian seasoning. After 5 minutes stir in the lentils and cook for 1 minute. Add in water and tomato puree and some salt and pepper. Cook for 30 minutes. When finished, add in the balsamic vinegar, greens, and more salt and pepper to taste! That's it! If you make a lot, it freezes well too if you want save it for later! It lasts in the fridge for 4 days. Thank you again for sharing your meals and your lives! Your videos always make my day happier!
Дуже зраділа новому відео! Прикро було почути про ваші сумні події( сподіваюся все налагодиться! Мені дуже подобається дивитися як ви готуєте страви! Дуже багато овочів і це чудово, це дуже надихає❤
