Let's Find Out Why This Giant Bull Moose is a Warrior
Moose are warriors! Welcome to M&C today and today’s video is an example of how tough moose are. We talk about it all the time, their toughness, their ability to heal, and their amazing ability to overcome significant issues in their lives.
Warning, today’s video has some footage showing an injury. Libby puts up a screen directing where to advance to if you choose to skip that part. But we thought it was important to share with all the fans what goes on out there and how amazing at healing these bulls really are.
As you watch, pay attention not just to that right eye but also to those multiple scuffs on his right side. Moose have very tough hides and among many other things, their hide aids them during these annual battles.
We think the fight might have been Left Hook vs Grumpy because both animals were gone for the same number of days, both reappeared injured, but in the end…there’s no way to positively tell that is what happened. They obviously both could have run into different bulls in different places, but it is very possible they met up with each other.
This is a triumphant story, as you see in the end of this video LH came back strong the following year and as we get back to “real time”, he had an amazing 2023 rut.

Thanks Lidia! I was so glad he let us have a good look at that eye to see that he still was intact. And absolutely Yes; health and wellness to all moose!🤗❤ When I worked with vets (horses)🐎I learned that eye injuries are quite painful.👁😫 I guess it's their close proximity to the brain and that they're laden with nerves. It certainly didn't bother him this past year! He was on FIRE! 🔥🧯

Wow! This guy is so tough just like Mismatch. Left Hook's antlers still amaze me. I hope there are little baby Left Hook's running around in 2024 too. That eye injury was really bad. Poor Left Hook. Love all of them.❤❤🫎🫎

He is so tough, Tricia. They all are, but those who have to live with injuries year after year are especially rugged souls, and for that reason I should think the cows would chose a bull like LH or Mismatch. We would love to see his genetics stamped into some youngsters soon!🤗🥰
