From what I’ve heard, Girl At Home in the stolen red version is a “demo” and Girl At Home TV is her original idea for the song. The reason why it wasn’t like this in the Red (Stolen Version) is because her team at that point wanted more country songs and didn’t want to go along with her original vision. Edit: also, I interpreted the lyrics “it would be a fine proposition, if I was a stupid girl, and yet I might go with it, if I hadn’t once been just like her” as like even if she was a stupid girl, she still wouldn’t go through with it since she went through the same thing.

I enjoyed Girl At Home(Taylor’s Version) a lot more that the original. Actually Girl At Home was my only skip from Red.And now I’ve been listening to the re-recording of it on repeat.It sounds so good! Overall I might be one of the few people who listened to the album in order and didn’t skip right to the Vault tracks.All of the songs sound so fresh and new. Stream RedTV everyone! It's interesting, bc I've never thought about Girl at home's lyrics that way. To me, the "it would be a fine proposition if I hadn't once been just like her" doesn't imply that you have to be cheated on in order to know not to cheat, but instead that that whole situation hits Taylor personally, in a spot that hurts her. At the end of the day, she is rejecting him because it's the right thing to do (I feel a responsability to do what's upstanding and right), but her reject also has an emotional layer

Girl at home (stolen version) feels like a complete song but Girl at home (Taylor's Version) is ok but doesn't sound finished, like they had a vision, started working on it but stopping when only 85% complete. The thing I like about “I knew you were trouble”, she actually dropped down the amount of bass/production/coverup and it’s a lot more about her vocal.
