For those who are interested in seeing the study of the vitamin C derivative Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) being a good choice for acne prone skin, the title is "Sodium ascorbyl phosphate shows in vitro and in vivo efficacy in the prevention and treatment of acne vulgaris", it's a very nice read: they mentioned how it initially had no activity against p. acnes bacteria at the concentration of 0.5%, but when they increased it to 1%, within 4 hours it had a very effective reduction in the p. acnes bacteria, and they even showed a before and after picture of one of their representative subjects who took part in the treatment process. Thank you Dr. Shereene for making these Let's Get Intimate playlists, it helps me research even further about skincare ingredients as I initially wasn't sure where to start in terms of researching. Your videos give me a foundation of understanding and allows me to explore even further to research regarding the ingredients. I appreciate your help a lot.

Thanks for mentioning vitamin C on sensitive skin since I’ve been using it every morning and once in a while I’ll use it twice a day, and I just found out the Timeless 20% vitamin C E ferulic serum is actually too high strength for me. I watched another video where vitamin C around 20% and 25% isn’t well-tolerated so vitamin C at 15% tends to be the best (providing best antioxidant properties while having lowest sensitivity/inflammation so highest tolerance for all skin types). So if anyone is experiencing redness/inflammation/irritation/flaky skin from vitamin C, definitely try to get 15% vitamin C. The super pricey Skinceuticals vitamin CE ferulic serum is formulated with 15% vitamin C. Edit: Please talk about vitamin E/tocopherol and vitamin B5/pantothenic acid! I love the La Roche Posay cicaplast baume b5 and would love to know the science behind B5 products.

But she's wrong in a lot of the things she's saying. You won't overdose on vitamin C from more than 2000 MCG a day, you can take all the way up to 10000 MCG a day without overdosing, The first sign of overdosing is diarrhoea and I haven't experienced it yet even thou I eat 2000 MCG in the morning + with every meal I eat, so I consume between 6000 and 8000 MCG vitamin C every single day and it has done wonders for me. This is a +1 hour video review on different vitamin C studies, but specifically my argument about taking vitamin C with every meal or 4-6 times daily, look at 2:20 in the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJetgoevhNCfpKc You should listen to the whole video thou, it's free gold and diamonds packed in a 1 hour video. Also check out her and her research crews website, they have 30 pages of vitamin C highlights from almost 200 scientific references.

Yes! It has squalane in it and that's why it's oily. But this is what I've been using for months, as well as their Ascorbic Acid 8% in Alpha Arbutin 2% and I have been noticing a drastic improvement in the evenness of my skintone.

Yes I feel exactly the same way. It's so CONFUSING. There's this product for that and another to fix that problem! Ugh! Makes me want to pull my hair out due to frustration!! Plus, I have to shop at the drugstore for my products bc I don't own a credit card and I also don't have much money to spend and I noticed that skin care products are very EXPENSIVE! I wish someone could just make a simple am/pm skincare routine for me to follow because just when I think I know what I am doing, I don't! Lol.

The ordinary has a serum with tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate! It's called: ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate 20% in vitamin f. It's around 10 bucks! Only thing is its oil based. I prefer water based. But still, it's a lightweight oil.

SO Interesting, thank you! I'd love to hear your take on laser therapy and chemical peels that are professionally administered at beauty salons/dermatologists. It gets quite overwhelming when there are so many options for skin tightening, radiance (brightening) and even tone.

The Perricone MD vitamin c serum contains Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate and not ascorbyl palmitate. This is clearly stated on the official Perricone MD website. I’m a bit surprised it’s mentioned differently in this video and have to wonder about the reasons for this.

@@parmelar SO well. I was really not expecting much of a difference. Their packaging seems pretty awesome too. The tube doesn't seem to retain air (it just keeps slowly getting smaller) and has a nice pump on the end. From their product description: "Packaged in an airless pump, this formula is much less likely to oxidize or change color, so it lasts longer than many other Vitamin C serums." I believe it.

Love that different price range options were given! I’ve wanted to try out Vit C for a while now and just got the L’Oreal one. I was also considering the No7 and CeraVe but my store didn’t have them. Glad I didn’t put that on my face!
