39:32 Only go for heavy rifles if you can stack them. They are light and small (crit-wise) and they hit really hard but they fire very slowly. They are not for DPS. Instead, they are good at pinpoint alpha. I had an Annihilator with 5 heavy rifles and a bunch of medium lasers which would alpha heavies and assault mechs off the field in a single shot. For whatever reason, NPCs would do tremendous damage when assigned to that mech!
@macbrown99 Жыл бұрын
Heavy rifles really benefit from having multiples. 3-4 of them in an assault mech set to a single chain fire group is a ton of fun and can absolutely core large targets if rapid fired and be used very flexibly otherwise. Worth trying out in a Mauler, Banshee or some other assault, preferably one that can carry a decent bank of lasers as backup.

However, even with max armor it still takes a lot of aggro, so I dropped the jump jets and added hardened armor. Will have 160+ shoulder armor and 200 center armor, once I get more patchwork I can add more armor. It just draws so much aggro!

Just an FYI on the mech selection parts. It shows as 2(4)/6. The first number is the number of parts you have for the current specific model selection(ex; 2 Atlas-RS). The second number is the total number of generic model parts you have(ex; 4 Atlas parts). The last number is the total number of parts you need to have to construct the mech(6 Atlas parts to construct an Atlas) Unfortunately, nothing on the display says minimum number of parts to construct(I think you selected 3 or 4) Thanks for the great content.

Changing graphic settings doesnt stop the FPS drops and xenopax mods barely help, its just when mech spawn or die is the only issue. :/

Most people don't know Clan 'mechs all that well. Of the Clan 'mechs I'd say the Mad Cat Mk. II and the Dire Wolf are probably the most famous. The Atlas is iconic because it was chronologically the first 100 ton Assault 'mech. In terms of lore, super heavy 'mechs came before 100 assault 'mechs, but in BattleTech lorecrafting, Kerensky coming up with the 100 ton Atlas assault 'mech came first. 🙂

MSK-6S Mackie: the first 100-ton 'mech
@MisterNi Жыл бұрын
@@ala5530 In terms of BattleTech lore yes, in terms of lorecrafting no, the Atlas was still first. Still though, the Mackie is still a very significant part of BattleTech lore though.
@MisterNi Жыл бұрын
@Shaun Templey I'm not sure why your reply isn't showing up but I'll just quote and reply to you this way: "Samuel Hwang The Mackie came out only after extensive contact with the Clans. In fact, about the time the Inner Sphere went after the Smoked Jaguar. They never figured out how to build and pilot the 100 ton Mechs, until the Atlas showed up and proved they were possible, even thought the plans for the Mackie were very old. The reason the Mackie were not attempted further, is due to such Mechs as the Victor." No, the Mackie is in fact the first 100 ton Assault 'Mech design IN BATTLETECH LORE. The person who replied to me, ala5530 is right about that, and the Star League Defense Force (SLDF) were the Star League, not the Clans back then. In terms of when that piece of lore was added to BattleTech in terms of when it was lorecrafted in, the Atlas was the first 100 ton Assault 'Mech. Much of this lore was being created not only at FASA for the technical data and the story lore were being added at certain social circles where people meet up to discuss such things such as Washington DC. That was the very early days of BattleTech when a lot of adults in DC considered BattleTech to be for "virgin space sci-fi nerds". A lot of non-nerdy people did in fact like BattleTech but wouldn't say so publicly due to the stigma associated with being a "tabletop nerd". As a result, a LOT and I mean a LOT of people went on a decades long evangelizing of BattleTech with various TV shows, video games, new game IP and culminating with a lot of at Microsoft also wanting to see BattleTech then MechWarrior also succeed. and also buying the IP to both outright. If a lot of people didn't really WANT BattleTech to succeed then it probably would've died off and faded away long ago, or maybe the Japanese would be trying to do something with the IP. A lot of us here in America wanted to keep BattleTech a distinctly American IP though as Japan does their own Mecha stuff their own way anyway. A lot of people however wanted to keep BattleTech uniquely American with of course influences from around the world as is the American Way.
