Item rarity, and free market, give actual value to items in D2. This value gives D2 unparalleled replayability. It's ALWAYS exciting getting an HR or certain unique drops. Even blue items can be godly. D4s items are either too common (literally any legendary/unique)....or legitimately impossible to get (Shako). Aside from that, D2s classes all play different. While classes in D4 are different, they somehow all feel the same...

Anyone with this take is just wrong. There is a reason why you can hear news about an item selling for 3 gold caps on D4. It's because nobody had a weapon that good before. What you think you know or what you are talking about is just very shallow and negligent rant. Literally every rare item can be a GG one. This is why the game needs a loot filter. Literally 80% of the items you pick up, look at it and keep only about .3% which are only an upgrade because you didn't have 4 of the desired stats yet and they are not even good rolls but are very hard to find better ones. D2 rares have very specific uses that are rare for sure, but getting a near perfect roll in D4 is very close in rarity IMO. Even with the enchanting system. I really hate todays gaming community, who just hate everything just because they want to to validate their shit takes on everything to compensate for something. I'm not saying it can't be improved but the exact thing you bashed D4 for is not even the bad part of the game.

The ridiculous number of Realm Downs that I am NOT getting, the ethereal nature of my merc's headstrikers, and his life leech, the stun locked state of the trav council, and the disgusting amount of gambling that's giving me carpal tunnel, and I presume the same situation for Gheed on his end. Not worried about his hospital bills, as long as he sells his gold on JSP for USD, I just hope he doesn't get high blood pressure seeing me, my barb jogging over every 10 mins all bloody wielding an edge bow all zesty

I run merc with last wish, hustle, flickering flame helm, COH. He gives fanat/might aura AND lifetaps the counsel members for survivability. He never dies. My GF barb uses Berserk with grief PB in one hand and ali baba (2 ist) in the other (6xlem PB swap). Kill speed is a lot faster than relying on merc to kill.. plus I just use WW and heal myself off the life tapped minions from my merc. GG
