Little Renee was in second grade, when her teacher was telling the whole class about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. She said. "In 1620 The Pilgrims sailed into this famous harbor. What did the Pilgrims stand on after landing on this famous rock...The teacher looks around the class and says "Renee, what were they standing on? Renee smiles and says: "their feet"...the class bursts into laughter.🤣🤣

Thank you for this compilation of wonderful historic holiday ads! As far as I know, turkey is the quintessential Thanksgiving meal in the US. I was watching a skit from the Catherine Tate show earlier today. They said turkey is also the must-have food for Christmas? I wish you a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving meal! Cheers, Gabriele - Berlin

A technically perfect vid, as always.👌It´s obvious that we don´t have Thanksgiving over here, but we got Erntedankfest, which is a more church related event. Enjoy your stiffed turkey and the pumpkin pie, and have a fantastic Thanksgiving 2024 ! 🦃🍗🍷 Greets from GER, U.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well Renee. I have never been a big fan of cranberry sauce. The best part was the sound as it came out of the can. 👍👍
@PaperandMooseАй бұрын
I love cranberry sauce! I make my own now, fresh cranberries, a little oj & water, some brown sugar, cinnamon, & crushed walnuts in the crockpot - yum!

Oh my,a fruit cake ,21/2 pounds for $1.49 I love fruit cake but it's so expensive now The 21/2 pounds would cost at least $13-15 nowadays I didn't see from what era this video was from , maybe 1930 or 1940? Always fun facts about years gone by I can't wait to see the Christmas video, maybe a little bit longer vid please💜💖💚🇨🇦🦩 Stay Happy 💫✨🌟✨

What is the difference between a stewing chicken and a roasting chicken, I wonder? Stewing chickens probably lived fast & hard & died young. Roasters were the pampered elite, maybe. My wife's grandfather ran a hatchery in Siler City, NC. I think the way it worked was that a train would pull up on a siding and would unload a lot of fertilized eggs (chickens). When the eggs had hatched and become strong chicks, farmers would come and buy them. And when did we start & stop eating vegetables from a can (if we have stopped)? When people moved off the farms in the the '30s-'50s I guess. Then when Whole Foods and the like opened up - now local Farmer's Markets too. The poor Jolly Green Giant. Where did he go? Thanks for the video - good luck if you are cooking (we are not!) and hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

My Mom and Grands used to (well Mom still does occasionally) always talk about roasting HENS...they were much more plump than a regular chicken.
