I'm binge watching your vids beginning with the move of your bigger than a normal apartment, toolbox. Now I kno what a half a mill of tools and boxes look like. Nice.... keep on keepin' on. You've even taught this old dog a few new tricks. Can't wait to see the finished product. Eric is Most definitely an optimist. But that's a good thing. Kinda keeps you motivated and on the trail to the completion. But is a raceway ever really done. Always an improvement here and there. Slight tweaks every now and again. That's what makes it fun right. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom.

Good work. I did not realize how many layers and how much material is in the roof and pillars. Lot of work, but that weight removal adds up.

Along with using the spot weld removal tool a heat gun helps release the glue/adhesive and seam sealer works well also.

I have a small custom cabinet shop. When sanding it was just a dust fog!! I bought a box of 2in thick folded filters at a goodwill that had a damaged box. They were about 20 x 20. I built a box they fit in one side. On top I cut a round hole and mounted an attic exhaust fan I paid $4 at a yard sale. I sit a small fan on one side of my shop moving air in that direction. It works awesome. Its amazing how fast it removes dust from the air. When the filter is full of dust I take it outside knock it off and hit it with some air and slap it back in.

People can say whatever they want about the looks of your car because the only thing most of them saw last race season was the back of it anyways

Another awesome video!! Ryan looks like you've got this racing Thang pretty well figured out!! Maybe you should try racing full time instead of just for fun! You never know, you could end up being one of the top 5 fastest guys in the country & make everyone else feel like they're just racing for 2nd everytime you show up at the race!! You might just be able to get a super hot wife that supports you 100% & loves racing too!!! Oh, wait you have, you are, you do & you most definitely do!!!!😂😂😂 Keep up the amazing job!! Thanks!! Im looking forward to seeing the Firebird back out there racing again!!

You should have just kept the body on your old one just replace the panels been better off and you would have saved a nice fitebird body.

Looks like alot of work for not much gain, not sure id of destroyed a perfectly good body for what you did!! You could have did all that to any camaro or Firebird, jus dont get it. Think someone didn't think everything thru. I suspect this probably isn't the first time , either. Cmon guys.... 🤡 OMG
@joshfraley94519 ай бұрын
Well I guess that's the difference between you and a successful racer... I'm really struggling to understand your thought process with your comment- are you saying that they cut up a special car for the body donor, or that it would have been easier to start with another car and build that? Either way, you're showing that you don't understand racing on the level that he's on... and P.S.... he didn't choose the donor car. You know the KC MAXX crew is doing well when they have dedicated haters that show up on their videos!

@@joshfraley9451Being from Iowa just a few hours away I understand his point a rust free third gen is rare in the rust belt but you are 100% correct at this level of racing some cars have been skinned a half dozen times, it’s not like this was one of 27 Firehawk edition or anything it was probably a v6 body that even rust free in the rust belt is $2500 max, usually around $1000 bucks with add saying no motor or tranny 5.3 LS available for this much extra 😂

How else does a guy go about building a steel roof and quarter car at 2500lbs?
@pontiac4119 ай бұрын
Considering the amount of weight you had to add to the old car why are you wasting time cutting weight out of the new car when your only going to have to add more than before?
@justinanderson47659 ай бұрын
He only added weight on no prep, he can run very light on front sides to try and hang with the hemis
@musicmaestro889 ай бұрын
It's not just about weight... it's putting the weight where you want it.
@stephenwolfe27279 ай бұрын
Yawl really saving that much weight?? Not really a Firebird anymore in my opinion.. Your wasting time because Yawls tuning ability far outweighs the rattletrap it's looking like.. Sorry guys, still Love yaa

Do you not understand what a tube chassis is? Of course it’s not like a firebird you’d see driving down the road lol. That’s what Elvira is for. This is the fastest No prep car in the country. It takes a lot to trap 170+ mph in the 1/8. Every ounce counts
