The quiver is tight so that as the crossbow gets broken in and used a lot they don't become loose or rattle. If they fit perfect from the start after a few months or hundred shots the bolts would fall out with a little rough handling or shock. I recently found out Centerpoint and Ravin are one in the same now after a merger. You are getting Ravin engineering and technology for 1/2 or 1/3 the price when you buy a Centerpoint. Also Centerpoint has exploded diagrams of every model on their website and they sell you every single replacement part you want to buy. This is a major selling point to me as being able to maintain and repair my crossbows myself without sending the whole thing back. Not only is shipping expensive for a entire crossbow, but you run the risk of being badly damaged and or being stolen as well. I would rather repair it myself and be able to buy replacement parts. Something many of the other larger more established names in crossbows should take note of and pay attention to. "I just need to buy and replace this one part....I don't need to send the entire thing back and be out of that crossbow for weeks or months waiting on you.">

Do you apply anything to the rail for lubricity? What kind of loctite did you use? I hope you can answer all my questions! Thank you for again for the content you provide! Subscribed!

Thanks for the kind words. Feel free to ask, I am happy to help. I use the 400grain bolts from the Centerpoint website (bolt is 300gn + 100gn broadhead, total = 400gn). They fly at 407fps, the broadheads are "Slick Trick" 100grain, 1inch, 4 blade. I've been using SlickTricks for over 10 years, they can be resharpened and I sight in the crossbow with them. I mark the bolts on the fletching, as each bolt flies slightly different, so I purchase six in addition to the three that come with it & try to find three bolts that shoot similar. I use the same bolt with broadhead to sight in, & that's my #1 bolt in the quiver for hunting. I use regular 100% Vaseline for rail lube, extremely sparing, use very little & infrequently. The loctite is blue. Any string & cable wax brand & also, very sparingly. If I can answer anything else please ask. Also if you purchase on the Amazon link, it doesn't cost you anymore & I make about a dollar, lol.

@@underdogoutdoors wondering is you could do a video using heavier weighted bolts to see the fps comparison as well to see if it helps reduces the noise of the crossbow. It would be a great test to see the results in increments to 500 grains. Using a variety of bolts would also be insightful such as 4” fletchings as well as the longer 22” bolts. I’ve looked all over KZbin for a video like this but cannot find one.
@underdogoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@SilverTreasures I'd love to but don't plan on purchasing any new bolts for a while. I'm sure heavier bolts would be fine, may or may not reduce the noise. Crossbows are loud, even quiet crossbows, they make up for it with speed & accuracy. 400gn is a great weight for speed & accuracy. I believe Borkholder archery makes a custom bolt for this crossbow that is heavier & allegedly more accurate.

ive seen a russian video where they shot this crossbow and showed it in slowmotion. Now i have no idea if this has anything to say, but one could see a pretty significant movement of the limbs and cams after the arrow was released. The cams twisted back and it created some weird angles that didnt look like it was easy on the material. Maybe this is normal, maybe they used very light arrows. I have no clue. Im also thinking about buying this bow, unfortunately i havent found many others showing the shots in slowmotion so i cant compare.

Your shooting the Centerpoint select bolts? Do you see the need for custom bolts? Everything I have seen they seem to shoot pretty good. I am 6'2 and need the adjustable stock and I am putting on the oracle x so I need the adjustable cheek piece too but all the reviews on the 430x seem to leave out those two details, not one shows the cheek piece adjustability, but I appreciate your review of the 430 and any info you could help me out with!
@underdogoutdoors11 ай бұрын
I actually purchased 2 of the 430X (one for myself & one for a friend) & set them both up- since I made this video. No need for custom bolts, I did go with Killer Instinct Hyperlite 370gn bolts (that's 270 for the bolt plus a 100gn broadhead = 370gn) & I used 125gn Swhackers for no other reason than I wanted to try them, didn't need to do this- makes them a little more front of center & total weight 5gn lighter at 395gn vs 400gn. You can use the Centerpoint bolts & scope it comes with, they are fine. The cheek piece on the 430X is adjustable, there are 2 screws on each side, and the adjustable piece has about 1/2 inch of play up or down. It's a great crossbow, in my opinion. With that Oracle X, it should be very nice. Good luck with it!

You know to be honest it's a toss-up between that crossbow and the Barnett crossbow because they're both made in China but I believe the Barnett's have a better trigger I shot one of those once and it man it had a heavy heavy trigger maybe there was something wrong with it I don't know but I didn't like the trigger pull on it at all and it seemed to be really heavy to front heavy

Barnett is made in Florida. Centerpoint is made overseas but not China lol

That plastic cooking hook snapped in half on the VERY FIRST draw!! I'm actually on the road now to return this P.O.S

Sorry to hear, so far, my cocking sled has had no issues, good luck with the return.

@@underdogoutdoors Durhams refused the return. Claiming a crossbow is a firearm. I was told to purchase a new draw sled. It all boils down to trust. This is a deadly tool with very cheap accessories. Which makes me question the quality & workmanship of the entire product. I don't feel safe shooting this product 20' up in a tree.

@@underdogoutdoors The left cam is seized. This explains why the draw sled broke. It looks like I'll have to try my luck with the BBB and potentially see if my bank will honor a charge back. Just an FYI. Buyer beware when shopping @ Dunham's Sports.

Stay away from this crossbow anymore. The strings and limbs have been snapping on people after a few shots. It happened to mine in less than 2 dozen shots. There are numerous reviews on amazon and other sites with similar issues. The rope cocker sled is plastic and breaks easy as well as the quiver problem he talks about. If they would fix these problems this crossbow would be slinging heat all day.

I will do some research on the issues. Not disagreeing with you, I just have not heard this and have not experienced this. I own 3 of these now, shoot often & have not had any issues other than the ones covered in the video. I have taken 2 bucks this season alone with Centerpoint crossbows, on video, you can watch on my channel. I don't have any affiliation with Centerpoint, I like the design and the price/value. Good luck & thanks for the comment.

Centerpoint Wrath 430, is it Junk? With the word "Junk" in the subject heading you set a poor mental picture in the mind of your viewers...bad! Regarding the issues you outline...insignificant. I never mount a quiver on my bow...weighty! Using loktite to secure bolts may be problematic if disassembly is required but there again not a problem. Specifications. Velocity Up to 430 fps Width (axle-to-axle) Cocked 9.00 in Width (axle-to-axle) Uncocked 13.00 in Draw Weight 200 lbs Power Stroke 15.00 in Weight 8.3 lbs Product Length 28.26 in String Length 33.78 in Overall Length 28.26 in Price ~$700 USD
