I love your video and I have just one quick question. Is there a reason on your casting on and casting off that you do not use the scrubby with the cotton yarn together to the end.
@WambuiMadeIt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Elayne! Thank you sooo much for watching. Looking back, I should have explained why I did not do the cast on and cast off with the scrubby yarn . The reason I didn’t is because at the end, when I am ready to draw the ends up, the scrubby yarn will get caught on itself and make drawing the ends to close very difficult. Good question. I hope this helps. I hope your scrubbies are fabulous!!🌻🧶🌻

Thank for your prompt response. That makes a lot of sense. Previously when I would pull the scrubby yarn it broke.

@@WambuiMadeIt I did one that included the scrubby yarn in the cast on and cast off and like you said it became entangled and I had to scrap it. So not including it is best. Thank you for the video. I think I will be making several of these to use in my new walk-in shower.

Wambui, thank you so much for showing us how to make a scrubby on the loom. I know there are people out there who can crochet with that scrubby yarn...I am NOT one of those. I got it into my head to make some scrubbies and I bought the yarn and I struggled so bad with it that I had to return it. It was just too difficult to crochet with. I just watched your scrubby video and I am now going to loom a scrubby. It is going to be so much easier with the loom. Thank you from the bottom of my dirty dishes!!! :)

@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Caitlin! Thank you so much for watching. I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Yes, for a scrubby you can use a yarn that is not cotton. If the scrubby is going to be used on your body or for washing the body then I would recommend that you use 100% cotton but for scrubbing dishes, I believe that an acrylic or even a wool yarn will work. Great tutorial. Instead of using one strand of cotton and one strand of scrubbie, could 2 strands of scrubbie be used? Thanks in advance.
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Greetings KupKake! Thank you for watching and thank you for a great question. In my opinion, the only reason why you might NOT want to use just scrubby yarn alone is because scrubby yarn is very difficult to work with. It will get stuck and ‘caught-up’ on itself. That is the main reason I start and finish this project with just the cotton alone. Trying to cinch the scrubby closed with just the scrubby yarn would be very difficult to do because the scrubby yarn will not slide through the other loops easily. However, Once you start with the cotton, you could switch off to both strands of scrubby. That said, I do believe the cotton adds to the durability of the scrubby. I hope this helps in some way. I am wishing you and your loved ones the very best today and and every day throughout this brand new year!!

To make body scrubbie what yarn do you use
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kay! For a body scrubby I would definitely want to use 100% cotton yarn and 1000% polyester yarn --I would NOT use the sparkle yarn - I would use the regular 100 % polyester scrubby yarn. I would also make sure to wash the scrubby before I present it as a scrubby to be used on the body. I would normally say that things that wash the body should only be 100% cotton. However, I do know that most of the body scrubbies that are sold in the stores are usually made of 100% polyester material. Thank you for watching. All the best to you!!🌻🧶🧶🌻

When you implement the scrubby yarn at beginning you start on the second peg but it shows she starts are her first. Your first peg needed to have the yarn over it so your yarn ends up on the second peg. Am I correct? I have watched this over and over again. Wambui can you clarify this for me please
@WambuiMadeIt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Catherine! First of all, thank you so very much for watching and being on the channel. When I add the scrubby yarn, I wrap both the scrubby yarn and the cotton yarn around the FIRST peg, and then I continue around the loom until I get back to my last peg. The way I decide which is my first peg and my last peg is my first peg is the peg just to the right of the anchor peg. I hope this clears it up for you. Let me know if you have any other questions. Can these be used on teflon, nonstick??
@WambuiMadeIt4 жыл бұрын
I read in an article about how to take care of nonstick cookware. Among other things, it stated the following could be used: “A washcloth, sponge, nylon scrubber, or nylon net-wrapped sponge such as a Dobie pad”. Theses are made of polyester which is very similar - although nylon is stronger. My answer would be yes. I don’t have any nonstick - the coated kind. So I cannot test it. If your pans are really expensive. I would contact the manufacturer. I’m sorry I could not be more helpful- but I hope this helps somewhat. 🌻🧶🌻🧶

How many inches is 14 rows?
@WambuiMadeIt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie! Thank you for watching. The amount of inches in 14 rows is going to depend on the type and thickness / weight of the yarn you are measuring. The best thing to do is to make a little sample using about 5 pegs of the the loom you want to use and the exact yarn you want to use. Use a row counter or some other way to keep count of your rows. When you have counted 14 rows, take the sample off the loom and measure. You will have the exact inches for 14 rows of the exact loom and yarn.
