The amount of work that went into this custom version of Catan and the video itself is ridiculous. This is by far one of the coolest things I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. This is truly unreal!

Whoa! Thanks a ton for this! I'd love to say we'll spend it on something practical, but we'll probably just buy more games!

Catan, one of the greats, I've only played once and don't own a copy. When it peaked I didn't have 5 players and once I did everyone who was interested in Catan had played it to death. Now, it's probably due to be introduced to a new generation of boardgamers. Someone started an open boardgame group that meets at Red Dragon in Orleans at 7:30pm Thursdays, and they managed to find a group of people with almost no boardgame experience who were also interested to play any game. It's incredible. Of course, it's been over a year of weekly meetings so you could hardly call them inexperienced anymore.

Yeah, it doesn't get as much love as it once did, and I suppose there are games that implement parts of catan much better.

Thanks! Hopefully it inspires some people to make their own. It might take some time, but nothing I did here was in any way impossible for the average gamer!

Winsor and Newton, yes. A #2 Rosemary & Co series 33 is $13 CAD. A good brush is worth the price and makes the whole painting process more enjoyable. I only use the one #2 for 90% of my painting

I've never even heard of Catan, but this LOTR version has inspired me to see what it's all about. Btw, Bilbo is literally hired as a Burglar... so maybe he should have been the robber. 😅
@TabletopTurtle3 ай бұрын
Well welcome to the world of board games! This set was custom, so Catan doesn't feature Lord of the Rings. But if you love LOTR, there are lots of great games out there for you! Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation, is one of my favorites. I had to go with Gollum because he's more fun to paint 🤣

Are these STLs available for purchase? I'd love to print them at 200% for my oversized CATAN collection.
@TabletopTurtle22 күн бұрын
I can't sell stls because I've modified the work of existing artist and it wouldn't be ethical

@@TabletopTurtle That's fair. I have all of Graven Guild's tiles, so I guess I better get to it :D

what did you do to make the tiles solid so that there wasnt any empty area with trapped resin? Also you should wash with supports then after washed put in hot water and supports come off super easy.
@TabletopTurtle3 ай бұрын
I hollow them out and then create holes in areas. I'll have to try that wash trick next time! Thanks!
@randyrixten64683 ай бұрын
Awesome job I did my own based on Stl s I found online will you release your files?
@TabletopTurtle3 ай бұрын
Thanks! Although I heavily modified and sculpted parts of the files, I can't distribute the STL files since I paid for many of the parts and that would be taking away from the original artists.
@yanntremblay3 ай бұрын
Is there a place where we could buy the stl files ?
@TabletopTurtle3 ай бұрын
No, I could never sell these STL files by themselves, since many used assets from other sources.

Wow! Where can we buy this edition?
@TabletopTurtle3 ай бұрын
Can't sell the STLs. Could possibly sell the completed project painted but ain't nobody got the money for that in this economy.
