What if I tell you have never bought shito in my life? Mama had me making shito for my big sister as early as 13 years🙄. Once I perfected it, she never made it her business again. So when I went to secondary school, I always made my own shito. Believe me when I say you won't regret trying this recipe.
Ingredients.
1.5 gallon canola oil
2.5 lb smoked shrimp
3.5 lb smoked herrings
20 bay leaves
2 cups hot chili powder
½ cup crushed pepper
10 large onions
300 grams garlic
2lb ginger
3 tablespoons Maggi
2 tablespoons coriander seed
4 tsp rosemary
4 tsp black pepper
3 star anise
15 calabash nutmeg
3 cups tomato paste
