I'm Italian and I think Italian americans have created over the years their own culture and while at this point they are very different from current day italians, i think their community is beautiful and should be preserved as is. That sandwich looks yummy! Despite not being considered an "italian meal" by Italians in thd comments. It's an italian-american meal!

I'm not Italian in any way. I literally have no connection to Italy or Italian-Americans. But it is quite disheartening to see how quick Italians are to show disdain against Italian-Americans. It's not just here, I have seen it in various other places. How quick they are to denounce and disown Italian Americans for any little thing. Perhaps this is a regional thing. I'm aware that there is a feud between northerners and southerners in Italy and maybe a lot who are commenting are from one particular region. Italian Americans mainly are from Sicily and Naples as far as I know I just haven't seen this level of "cultural abandonment" or "ethnic abandonment" for the lack of a better term with any other nationality/ethnicity as I have with Italians
