There is a spray I got at Home Depot that turns rust to black metal that I used that creates a really attractive finish. You should try it. I live near the ocean and salt and humid air rusts everything. I rescued some Ikea lamps having a base like yours, the non-moving parts (the frame) of a rusted inversion machine, the outer shell of my stereo receiver, and more.

I love that you went to Copper Harbor, and the UP. You should have found some "Yooperlights" along the shore. These are rocks along the Lake Superior shore that glow under UV lights. I just went to Grayling MI (Northern lower peninsula) and was too cheap to pay the gas to go up to the UP. I love your Videos!! I want to win the poster!!
