That paper cutter! It was in my grade school in the 60s, in my classroom when I started teaching in 1977, and in the office I worked in for 30 years till retirement. The sound it makes as you lower the handle brings back memories.

OMG. That paper cutter. I’d forgotten how satisfying the sound of the blade cutting through the paper is. They’ve always been around in the office environment ( I’m remote now, since Covid so no paper cutter 😢) but I haven’t seen a wooden one in ages. I would have bought it without hesitation as well. Everything in your haul is cool, but I like the thrifted items the best. Can’t wait to see how you transform the wicker tables. I know they will be fabulous and hopefully unexpected. You inspire me. Paper cutter is fabulous. Years ago I had one just like it. Loved it. Took it to have the blade sharpened and it was ruined for a straight cut after so be careful with your treasure. I stopped to comment in the middle of your haul. You get closer and closer to my personal aesthetic everyday and I'm so here for it. I absolutely loved all the little glass pieces you picked up because even if you put them all on one table all together they'd be so beautiful especially the little turnip vase. But I was stopped by those cute weird little salmon end tables. That's exactly what I've been looking for to replace a lamp I used to have. If you had that side table and then like the biggest Chinese lantern you could find from IKEA? Then a puck light on the inside just for the glowy warmth. That is the lamp I need!

Weird enough when I first saw you with the paper cutter it flooded me with memories and I hope you would buy it. So happy that you did. If you haven't figured it out yet it is the sound the paper makes when you slowly cut it that is so satisfying. I haven't figured out why but it is the same sound that is made when fabric is cut by a rotary cutter. Love you purchases and can't wait to see them all come together.

It's not often I can say this about someone else's purchases but I would buy every one of the things you got. I'm a 72yo granny BTW. Maybe not the two little baskets but that's because I have a heap of similar ones that I've bought over the years. I love small, handmade ceramic vases and I've got quite a few that I've found in second hand shops, but unfortunately not so much these days. Our second hand shops where I live in Queensland don't seem to have much that I want to buy these days. I'm always jealous when I see some of the thrift shops over there. Keep up the good work and take care of that wrist!
