Me too. I have so many ikea kallax units of different sizes I've wanted to put doors on. I saw another DIYer do something similar with the inserts about 6 months ago and cannot stop thinking about it. Danie's use of the tape really cleaned up the edges though and her piece just looks more finished than others I've seen. The glass top and taping the doors elevate this piece beyond what I've seen others do. Makes all of my previous issues doing something like this disappear.

@@candace200 same! I have only this one unit, identical to the one used in the video and have been meaning to add doors to it for so long now. I saw Kristen McGowan do a makeover that I loved, but she used the insert doors from ikea and then applied the wood over it which makes it quite more expensive. I want to add the doors straight on like Dani did!

When I first saw the Lego shapes I thought, "Oh no, Danie, that's way too literal!" but of course you know best, with the stain it looks like a creative riff on all those other modern storage units with round and square shapes, with just enough Lego cue to make it deeply personal to the owners.
