Let’s Meet Sal Khan (founder of the Khan Academy)

100 million students across the world are today using Khan Academy, an online platform where anyone can learn any subject for free. Founded by Salman Khan, resident of California, Khan Academy has revolutionized education. TBH is honored to announce an in-person conversation with Sal Khan. A brief Q&A with the audience will follow.

I wish we had such frank discussion happening in lndia also .But yes ,my both kids got excellent education and managed to clear five rounds of interviews for Microsoft and Amazon and land the jobs .Still there is hardly any discussion on many prevailing problems

I agree there is very little incentive in the society for education. We can't put our kids in silos, even if we have very curious kids, where are they going to end up? abroad definitely? we can't even bring back our HEC PhD scholars who really want to come back..

Pakistan needs very long term social, educational and political changes, kind of drastic changes. I have interacted with few Pakistanis and found many of them top rated cheats, business built on duplicity and cheating. So hate against every thing particularly india and hindus. Knowledge comes not by falsehood, hate and cheating. Simplicity and love for others could be of great help. Very long term consistent effort and commitment is very helpful. All the best for pakistan.

The elite society in Pakistan does not consider education to be a right. Look at people living in Islamabad and how many of them have kids as their servants who are school going age. We have a class system which thinks the poor people do not need to learn. All they need to learn is the religious education, and the other education is only for the upper class. We need to change the mind set, which is a very hard thing to do. The other element in the room is the religion. There can not be a debate about religion in Pakistan. Look what happened to Governor Taseer. There needs to be discussion about the role of religion in Pakistan. Critical thinking cannot be developed when you have so many strong feelings about your religion.

Khan sir 's Academy of India is different with Khan Academy of USA. but proud to be an Indian sub-continent, as both were related to India only. Pakistani People call south Asia but in real it's called Indian Sub-Continent (Indian Baresagirr).

Sal's bit about humanity is 100% is true. The warmth he exudes in his videos accounts hugely for KA's success. Plus the bite-sized content that entirely stands on its own.
