A planetary assault is a pretty brave first contract for our heroic mercs! And that's one heck of a battle coming up first. The Lyran allies are great though, there's a gunnery 2 and a gunnery 1 in that lance!

@@sammydavis5628 part of why I took that contract was I saw they were elite allies in the contract details. The other part was impatience :D. 🤞

Oh boy, I'm excited! Love to see another campaign! I'm totally fine with most video lengths, but I'd bet that 30-45 minutes is probably for the best. Anything over an hour just gets difficult to watch in one sitting, and this game takes enough time that anything less than that just doesn't cover enough content.

@@EvilTwinn yeah. I'm just trying to think about my own viewing habits and I prefer 30-45 but it seems to be most people make 1 hour videos. I'll need to see how it pans out

Who did your slide art?

The text and transitions and some scene and image manipulation I'm using filmora wondershare. Whatever I can find that is appropriate from a google search I also use. In this episode that is the initial planet shot. A lot of the rest of the art is currently being done with the help of DALL-E. The unit Logo is also DALL-E but will likely be redone once the artist I usually go to to make art for me gets back on her feet. I don't remember if they are in this episode but Art with the Questing Truck or gooball was done by my previously mentioned friend as well.

Just refer back to your Marlow's series. I've watched a huge chunk of that series from years ago. 30-45 mins is a good amount of time. You previously would do a short recap of previous episode, then continued with battle, and if you finished the battle, you did a short breakdown (salvage, prisoners, kills, etc). You took most maintenance offline, yet mentioned highlights like, "During maintenance, the tech blew his roll on unit X, so it took a couple days to repair, so unit X needed to be swapped out and replaced with standby/mothballed unit for upcoming battle." Trying to fit in a whole battle in one episode is too much, you previously split them to around 20 mins with the beginning being a recap, and ending episode with strats, or concerns (eg ally unit got downed, or next turn needing to focus fire, defense, etc.) which then filled the remaining minutes. Remember you control the story/narrative, have fun with it, but make it easy on yourself. Its already difficult trying to pair down 6-8 hours of footage down to several episodes that's 30-45 mins long. Especially with the current campaign being 9 months long, that probably 9+ battles (minimum 1 per month). I'll be right here, watching every one of them episodes till the campaign ends, or you give up the series. 🤣Can't wait to see that Battlemaster's PPC burning down some FWL trash.

@@Tenkgard that's a good reminder. recaps will probably be for the best. The whole reason I started doing them because it annoyed me when a lets player never knew what was going on one episode to the next.. I'll see if I can maybe add a little story to each episode too for flavor. Megamek is cool but can be dull to look at so some narrative recaps will help keep things interesting and keep things flowing.
