The pedal is analog BBD, but yes I like the extra grime and artifacts on the longer setting. Everything is so clean these days and lacking character, so this is really welcome!

Holy frigging crap, dude. This is awesome. It's neat they put those internal knobs in there. I'm definitely doing this. Thank's for the information.

No worries. How'd you go with the mod? Find a sweet spot that you like?
@johnt.campbell3167 жыл бұрын
Yeah... I prefer a quite _faster_ delay, so I went with clock-wise to get it faster, but with the main knob I can still get some slower delays... Plenty for what I need. I did't turn it *all* the way down, maybe about a 1/4 turn on the knob. Once again though, dude... *Great* information.

My experience is - I did the same - the repeat rate knob isn't that sensitive after this. I mean the rate is fairly the same in the lower 50% after that it quickly changes. And the rate went down marginally. But it does work.

Good mod thanks. You could actually unfolded that internal pot and add one the you can control from outside with case closed. Also, carefull with those conductive screwdrivers around the chips. You might let the smoke out.

Haha Fantastic! I was expecting to have to do some tedious resistor/pot change or even change the clock rate of a chip!

This is a Boss DM-2 copy correct? So are these the analog delays that did compromise tone quality for longer delay times ?

I just adjusted the trimpots inside. Now the delay time is longer. But at long settings there is a high pitched noise. Maybe clocknoise? How do I get rid of that?
@1redgate84 жыл бұрын
Just did the same...I turned the middle trim pot only a couple of degrees clockwise, it it appears to have disappeared. It is certainly not notable anymore to my ears.

@@1redgate8 the one above echo or intensity?
@JoeyLevenson10 ай бұрын
Doesn’t every analog delay have that. It’s a trimpot, not a mod.
@filterdrive5 жыл бұрын
Great stuff, but if it's a true analog delay I don't understand how there could be digital artifacts. If it employs some kind of noise-reduction technology, which is digital, it may struggle to reduce noise over the extended delay - maybe this produces the artifacts? Anywhichway, great stuff, really appreciate the mod info!
@S1NKONE5 жыл бұрын
BBD chips are neither digital nor analog because are time discrete. They sample continuous analog values but they do this at certain time intervals. This causes sampling artifacts. This is my understanding of it please correct me if I'm wrong. EDIT: The artifacts are filtered with a simple low pass filter.

Destroyed in what way ...like nearly broke it? Overload to electricals? Or destroyed as in; tone change?
@elti-buron1462 Жыл бұрын
@@gypsysteve3576 well the circuit is updated, I ended up breaking it entirely, stopped working. wasted 31 dollars, my suggestion is just be very careful because its super sensitive, once adjusted to your liking try not to repeat the process too often or it'll come off like it did in my case, sad because i bought it for this purpose only, probably just gonna spend 100 bucks on the jhs delay.
@OttosTheName Жыл бұрын
@@elti-buron1462 These trip-pots aren't meant to tweak a lot like 'proper' pots. The name also kind of implies it, you set it and you let them be. Unlike normal pots they are often rated for 1k turns, but it's quite possible they put in some pretty cheap trimpots because the user isn't supposed to touch them (often). Or maybe they aren't put on very solid.
