Aww, it is WATCHING all this progress that is fun. Just coming in and see that you've progressed takes the fun out of it. It's like starting a Civ 5 Let's Play, finish the episode, then the next episode you suddenly have tanks and almost a maxed tech tree. It's not about the destination, it's about the way there,

Finally...a game...that does NOT require you to defend it from bleepin invaders or anything. Only thing to do is keep your people happy, healthy, and expand...most good. Can't wait to get it when it comes out in 10 days =D I imagine that the creator of the game will release patches, obviously for bugs, but also for more content suggested by the players, or just something he would wish to add. Some more types of land would be nice, maybe like an Oasis-like desert map, obviously the natural disasters would be fire, dust storms, dust devils, drought, and heat waves.

This guy, This 'Quill', is an absolute nerd. I don't say this offensively, for I am one also, it is simply visible in the way he seems to look at the screen and analyse everything at a glance. He just became one of my favourite KZbinrs. Thank You, Mr Quill, for introducing me to Banished. After 10 episodes, I realise I am very possibly addicted.

I really wish you hadn't played this map offline, the fun was following your every move as you built the community. And now you come back with farming, tunnels, churches, boarding houses and all other stuff that it would have been great to see get built. While I will still watch it and enjoy it, its kind of ruined some of the pleasure in this series. Which is quite sad.

I think you have to change the max number of cattle down below the current number of cattle in a given field to split them. So like if a field has 8 cattle, make that field's max 4, and then click split to ship the excess over to another cattle field that is below its max. Luke does this on the ShiningRockSoftware KZbin channel on the video titled Banished Gameplay - Agriculture (Wq4aiygUhTk&t=2m15s)

21:30 omg it would be so cool if all the berries she gathered, like the past year, was all poisonous. So now you'd have an unknown quantity of tainted fetid berries in your stockpile, resulting in more random deaths when people eat them. This game definetly has challenge, but at some point it will become a sort of "winning formula" as with so many other building-only games (in dwarf fortress for example, due to the inclusion of combat and madness, no matter if you use the same exact winning formula and layout every time, you will die eventually due to invasions or people going mad etc). I really think this game does need more disasters and "awful things" that can happen. There needs to be something that always keeps pushing you back, so it doesn't become a runaway spiraling success, more people means more food production which means more people which means no more starvation which means no worries. See what i mean? Maybe they should include some sort of crime or corruption system, so a higher population becomes unruly and have further needs such as security and justice, lest criminals run rampant and arsonists ruin your food stockpile in anger of being left homeless in the winter because your housing was insufficent. I think something like that would add A LOT to the longevity of the game. For any game like this to have long legs to stand the test of time, there must be plenty of awful things that can go wrong.

Perhaps the odd path-finding is due to them trying to find their way to the root of the bridges you're placing? Do the characters try to find their way to the side of the river/bridge you start it on? Ergo, if you start the bridge on the opposite bank, they try to hike to that side?

AKiss4Luck does have a very effective city in Banished even though it is not as much minmaxing of placement. She does however play at half the speed Quill plays at, so it kind of drags a bit, but allows her more time to react.

Last video you wondered if the quarry actually changes and goes deeper over time. I noticed that the ramp now spans across another side and the hole is indeed a lot deeper than last video. Interesting - I wonder how far the developer went with that. Would be weird if your people go to the quarry and disappear into the mouth of hell or the Vortex of Doom(tm) or something :)

I think if there should be a combat system added to this game, maybe have a trip point like a high enough population or something similar but once you reach that point, the town you were banished from might get mad at your successes and come and attack you and you would have set a little militia type deal but not make the attacks to large or frequent so that it still retains the builder feel

Yo, quill! Greetings from Bulgaria :) So, this is indeed your strongest (or at least one of your strongest) series. I see everyone is looking forward to watch moar (me included). I'm really curious what happens late game, by far it seems it lacks a global goal or win condition or whatever. Like... at some point you'll have a fully developed (gigantic probably) city and... what happens next? :) And finally something quite off topic. You don't have any ANNO 2070 videos, which is really weird to me. It seems like your kinda game. Don't you like the sci-fi theme ('cuz you have some ANNO back in the day)? I don't demand it or anything, just asking (if you, for some reason, abandon you Banished videos you'll probably get hunted down by angry subscribers :P ). That's it, pretty long, but it's my first comment ever. Keep doing what you're doing, you're making us all happy. See ya!

What I would like is a game that starts like this game does, then you create a hamlet then village then town then large town then city. But instead of being the same age (like banished) the game goes through the ages & sometimes you will have to abandon your settlement & settle somewhere else. Also the game would track families like in Tropico (family tree & later on allegiances). So the game would be across from Simcity/Civ/Banished. When you go through the ages you need to research new tech & that would be procedurally generated.
@harrythompson429210 жыл бұрын
The man who builds and codes that exact game will be able to price it whatever he wants. He will be a billionaire. The game would be amazing. Civ, though a good game, would only really be able to input the research and tech advancement. Not the hexagonal tiles, they're crap.
