I really can't get enough of this game. Thank you for putting so much time into a Let's Play that was only supposed to be a Let's Try. The simple yet complex game mechanics, soothing music, and cute graphics give me a brief reprieve from the 16-hour days this semester. Carry on!

Just as a confirmation, at 26:15 I watched your pumpkin farmers, and they did drop off the pumpkins directly at your market. So they won't go out of their way to a storage barn. :D

I do like the fact that they do demolish the quarry after its empty, leaves the hole but you don't just have a vacant building. that is some pretty smart townsfolk

I did reply in the last vid about splitting herds, I think it has to do with that for splitting to be allowed a pasture needs a dedicated shepard or whatnot. And while they do evenout over time it's not an instantanious process, but you tried to split the herd right away. Problem to solve this is to assign a couple of new herdsmen before you try and split the herds.

One nice addition to this game would be a slider for the resource cap, so workers wouldn't have to go back and fourth between their jobs and labouring so much... Like if you set the cap on tools at 150, they would stop producing at 150, and then you could set another number for "Resume work", let's say 100. As it is now they'll hardly have time to start labouring before they are recalled to their work.

I am probably a little late to the party, but one thing you could consider doing for the sake of aesthetics is to surround your fields and orchards with a border of one or two squares of empty space. This will allow a living fence of trees to grow around your fields. Y'know, like in real life.

I hope there are later additions to the game that perhaps add heavier industries (maybe a rudimentary pollution effect) and DEFINITELY some more kind of commercial structures. When you have a town of 1000+ people, you're going to need some other businesses to keep people happy. My SimCity sense is tingling, telling me that I can't have a proper city center without big commercial buildings and things in it.

Glad you're feeling better! Brussels is truly thriving, though the food hiccup was unfortunate. The in flux of nomads, and boarding houses threw you into deficiencies and left to playing catch-up. Can't wait to see how far you spiral before the town's back on an even keel again. Looks awesome! More orchards are needed though, if you plan to market apple ale.

Herd splitting probably has a hard cap on the amount like herds of X size can be split. It makes sense to keep herding from expanding to quickly, i.e. you split a herd of two sheep to create two herds immediately which then you split again at two into two more etc...

On the herd empty vs split stuff. It would seem that it's dependant on the size of the pasture you are empty/splitting too compared to the number of animals. I.e. If your pasture more/equal the current number of animals you would empty into it while if it holds less than ur current number of animals you have to split your herd.

Hoping you noticed one of the devs for age of empires replying to a tweet of mine to you but either way I'd really appreciate it if you tried out age of empires 2. It has had some new support from the devs and put up on steam, it's strategy and very well done. The commitment of them showing this game some love and compatibility with steam even though it's an old title is impressive, hope you reward them.

I'm honestly a bit worried that Quill's pasture is almost surrounded by graveyards and their delicious corpse-juices seeping into the soil the cows feed on grass from. 32:28 i would honestly just have put down another apple orchard right next to it, effectively creating one big 30x15 orchard.

Fermenting sprouted corn to create ale was actually a technique used by Native Americans, and pumpkin ale is brewed by a local brewery to go with Octoberfest.

If there is a fire they will take water from the rivers and lakes as well, so one of the wells wasn't necessary

Hey Quill, I'm sure this has already been mentioned or you have looked it up, but it seems the split command for pastures only works if you have over 10 animals in there. This may be a little different depending on the type of animals, I'm not quite sure.

Hey Quill. What's your opinion on making scenarios for Banished? I.e. You're limited to some certain builds/only allowed to use specific food ressources. I think it would give more difficulty, over the difficulty there's in the game already. Please let me know what you think. :)

Quarries can be "reclaimed". Click the "Reclaim" button when you select the quarry.

I think split wasn't working because you were going from a smaller capacity farm to a bigger capacity farm. Like there was no reason to split there so it didn't let you.

I'm guessing you can't split a herd unless you have a certain number of animals. Maybe to prevent inbreeding or something, Like you need a certain genetic diversity in the herd, so you can't split up the herd if it would lower this too much.

Danjal Veskandar One is a practicality issue, the other is a actual gameplay issue. You could create millions of cows in no time, by splitting and splitting and splitting. Which could be an issue. The mitosis thing is just to simplify.

What I noticed is he wasn't maxed on Herdsman. I think you can't split unless you have full workers at both locations, or the destination to make sure it's ready.
