Tradition gives you free culture buildings, meaning that if you've already built monument, you'll get a free opera house as soon as you unlock the tech! Some deity players go down that path and claims it's superior.

Watching this after your solo playthrough of the civ6 game you lost, i remember how much more game we get when the livestream part isnt there. Still, solid reasoning on your city start. You did not forget to move your warrior first. By hindsight a move to the left would have been prefferable, but it might have ended you up on the iron. Tradition, maybe worker settler worker, settle behind the mountains, fog bust some units and go for early growth, then punch the english if you can get a favorable jump on them.

Civ 5 have better ai diplomatic, is more clear when you see the map what is going on, have more civs to play and almost (except meme venecia) is viable or strong in one or other way, and the mp is more stable. Ofcourse no all of Civ 5 is good, the range units are by far the best units of the game, the technology in late game is meh, and in mp a group of civ are ridiculous broken (inca for example dont have the penalty of move on hills and if you build anithing in a hill is free), but have mod for balance and improve gamplay so, thats why a ton of people like Civ 5 over 6

This upload makes me sad in a happy way. The last Civ game I played before I knew this channel was Alpha Centauri. By now, I've learned Civ 6. I don't want to have to learn another Civ game, especially not an obsolete one... ...but I don't have a choice. Gotta go where our Quillian overlord takes us, because that way lies fun. So... ultimately, it's a like to the video/playlist?... I guess? :)

Might want to read nqmod changelog. You don't know a lot of things that affect gameplay. Like pearls often being the favourite coastal resource due to giving one culture, or great scientists bulb change so that you can't save them(they give science= to the past 8 turns and doesn't change)

Also the nqmod is usually played with hellblazer Pangaea map(and therefore balanced around it)

Forts function as canals in Civ IV. So if you have a two tiles wide land bridge you can settle a city on one tile and build a fort next to it, and then ships can cross the land bridge.

You might even be able to just have two forts. The requirement is that the fort has to be on a coastal tile for a ship to be able to enter it. I don't remember if you can pass from one fort to another, it seems to me that you should be able to.

Actually it is "quite potent". Maybe not for multiplayer, but for single player it allows you to build more archers (since they cost 4 hammers less and are available before archery) and focus on a civ that's very aggressive early game (like Alexander, Julius, Attila, ect.). You can't go battering ram crazy with them, but they are still a very viable option in single player.

Not really, especially if you spam a lot of them. In the early game, many cities don't have walls, so you can spam a bunch and just surround a city and range attack it. You take the city with a warrior after it's HP is down to 0 or so.
