I liked the game when was released. Wasn't groundbreaking or phenomenal, but was fun kinda old-school shooter. Graphics even for today standards are not that bad knowing that the game actually uses heavily modified Unreal 1 engine.

As somebody that grew up in Vegas, I can tell you that it is so artificial, most of the people are fake. You know a city is incredibly boring to live in when you decide to move to the glamorous and exciting city of Salt Lake City. Hell, now I can at least go skiing in the mountains, driving through the canyons, and racing at the race track! None of that shit in Vegas.

I really hope they can make a Duke Nukem game that is good in the future. Duke Nukem 3D was one of the very first FPS game I remember playing. Duke Nukem 3D and Pokemon red and blue was the games of my childhood. I will say that this this game has nostalgia going for it, as I played though it, it did bring back some memories of good times.

I find it really funny that the opening quote is more strongly associated with Duke Nukem than the movie it came from, to the point that Aoife genuinely seemed to think it was original to this series. Same with "Hail To The King", to the point that *Ian* didn't remember where it came from. For all that this license has become toxic enough that it's surprising the discs in landfills haven't created any Ninja Turtles yet, it certainly has some cultural cache. From Randy Pitchford's comments in recent years, the idea that they would try making another Duke Nukem doesn't sound as crazy as it should, and that makes me happy. I really hope they do. Mostly because I can't fucking stand Gearbox, or Randy, and sooner or later one of the many *terrible* things they have created from beloved franchises which have made it to everyone's collective "worst games in history" lists will eventually ruin them.

Duke Forever should have been a warning sign on what'll happen to Aliens: Colonial Marines, but we all wanted to believe Randy Pitchford. After this, I am a bit ashamed to suggest that you guys play Borderlands (the Tiny Tina DLC of Borderlands 2 would be great with Johnny). But looks like that was the last game in a long time where Gearbox did a good job. They had some decent WW2 tactical shooters back in the day too, though.

I thought this game was very fun indeed. Decent multiplayer, too. Also, the graphics are far better on PC than console. You should have played it on there (based on the aliasing in the footage above, I presume it's console footage)

Also they basically rebuilt the game several times because they took so long that it would have been a last-gen game on release. If they hadn't scrapped it and started over multiple times it'd have been better.

erm i enjoyed dnf wouldnt call it a great game but wouldnt say it was bad it had quite a few good moments and puzzly bits you had to figure out how to beat bits like the turret part she was playing (shoot the stuff trying to kill you) most peeps just get caught up with complaining about the non pc humour (which i like) its a stupid game not a bad one
