They have an excuse, it just a bad one. Empire had big ambitions, but they couldn't fulfill them. Same with Rome 2. Big ambitions but too complicated. So they just stopped trying. AI cannot merge units, force it to use generals AI cannot recruit units, give it the "insta-spawn ability" AI cannot manage the economy, disable the economy AI cannot manage a seige, make the walls irrelevant Unbalanced units makes the game unfair, make all units the same Etc Everything just became "fuck it, that'll do" and brute forced quick fixes because why innovate? Innovation is hard and doesn't make money. It's a numbers game for CA now and their rule is "minimum effort, maximum profits".

Are you telling me that I played this game for like 500 hours and I didn’t know that you could move people around in the cabinet? I thought you could only kick people out and get random people to fill the position I didn’t know you could swap them.

Oh no! Yes, you can swap ministers. If you're an absolute monarchy you can also appoint any opposition members to cabinet positions

That would depend on the empire’s politic. Constitutional monarchy cannot swap but can kick (not so often). Absolute monarchy can swap.

In my opinion the mod looks amazing! Improved many things that we didn't have in Vanilla, but it really has a bug when "replishiment" your army. It's a very annoying and annoying bug where I can't resupply my army.. if someone can help me I'll be very happy!

I agree, it's an amazing improvement and I love playing it so far! You can re-enable replenishment by deleting the IT_norepl.pack file in the Empire Data folder, as per the directions in the installation instructions document

That's not a bug, they did that on purpose, to recreate that added layer of training fresh troops in your heartland and send them off again, like in earlier Total Wars.

That's one of the things i love about this game. You wouldn't of been able to go and "replenish" your ranks, if you're in foreign lands. The only reinforcements you'd had, would of been the ones you brought later on.

This mod does vastly improve the experience but it also very bloated. By the late era you'll have so many (unnecessary) unit options moving a single mm to the left or right makes you pass like six units. Making money is so easy you'll be able to afford multiple stacks of elite only units. The commands to make ready and fire weapons are also strangely removed. And all this is not even bringing up the fact that the AI will never form good armies because there are too many options, or the fact that the mod uses AI art instead of actual paintings of the era and no period music either. It's an unpolished mod that's been overhyped. The developers need a few more months/years before it's truly an Empire 2 experience. I want them to succeed but too many people (like the Terminator and Andy's Take) are gushing over the mod without any sort of criticism.

Yeah, I agree! It has so much potential. I was shocked, when I wanted to start with Sweden,I had the choice to recruit 50 units and I was like "dafuq?", I stopped and started with Bavaria

Hey! I personally prefer this mod a lot more than DarthMod. I've played a lot of DarthMod over many, many years, and I've found it to have gotten pretty stale and basic. This mod adds a whole lot more stuff, it's definitely worth a play

Yes, it is playable. I have not had any crashes in version 4.4 of the mod with all the rolling updates.

Its a great mod but please explain how I can transfer fleets between theatres? I had trade ships on North America and go to thr Brazil part and they just stay there. If I am in port and click on brazil a map will come up but my ships dont budge?

That's right! Empire 2 is in fact a purely downloadable mod for the original ETW. It can be downloaded from ModDB and installed in Empire Total War.

Do you guys know if the Turkey Landbridge bug was ever fixed? It makes the game unplayable in the late game, since the turns take over 20 minutes at this point. I know it was never fixed in vanilla, but I don't know if any mod has ever addressed it.

Does it improve the diplomacy? In Darthmod the AI had this annoying habit of wanting to exchange regions even though they don't make sense. I had the Cherokee wanting to exchange a european region with a region in America.

I believe it does. I have not had the AI ask for region trades as of yet. Only greedy for money in exchange of trade haha

I'm not having any issues running it through steam. I'm not sure why yours is having trouble 🤔. Perhaps ensure it's a clean vanilla install, and verify the integrity of game files.

I always find it funny mod teams do a better job on a old game then a new one that came out. I still think Total War Pharaoh was supposed to be a DLC campaign for Troy Total war just like Hannibal at the gates.

I don't think the ability to edit existing provincial boundaries had been covered in a mod yet. I think the game limitations may prevent that. Adding new regions in blank map space has become successful though

I also started playing the mod it is very good, thank you, just facing one bug in the battle map there is one line appearing in between and the terrain gets darker on the other side of that line, if anyone is also facing the same error please provide the solution, i am playing every graphic setting in ultra.

Well, I tried the mod. Just keep getting these 'you do not have 100 points or the region is already yours' every turn, and it does not matter where I click, it will just pop-up. Also crashes my game everytime.

the mod looks good at first but i deleted it after i realised the guns are bugged. i was playing venice and even tho my line infantry made like 100 shots only few enemy died, enemy was right in front of my line infantry!

For me the issue is my artillery batteries haha. When my guns start moving, a group of guys get left behind, and then the bloody things refuse to unlimber and fire. So they just sit idle, all limbered up, getting shot at. Brilliant, eh?!

I believe the Islamic emirate is the Barbary pirates. Pretty sure that everyone but the Ottomans are at war with them

Love the game but the battle mechanics i think are flawed. Infantry engage in a never ending volley of fire. Only way to do any real damage is fight melee, you can forget any sort of artillery. Naval battles seem good

I found the fix for that option in the Installation Instructions document! It says to re-enable vanilla troop replenishment, simply delete the IT_norepl.pack file in the Empire-Data directory.

Who decided to replace culture with religion, it makes little sense for the time? One could be catholic in spanish america and not be from any spanish territory even, but still be able to assimilate near flawlessly!!!

That is true, I believe it's similar to the American Civil War mod where the religion becomes allegiance such as Union or Confederate
