I love the idea that every hour on sullys boat a game of football starts, but they run the normal 90 minute games, so they get choatic with many games being side by side

Just to check if I got it correct: - Tom's is... not a pirate ship, but a pirate-THEMED ship - Laurie's the goth one, no surprises there - Sully's boat is Chelsea's Football Club tour bus (tour boat I suppose?) - Adam's a Kisstopia travel agency vehicle - Tilly's either going for a Cheese Thief or a Doubloons Decker - Jon's might as well be the British Navy from all that overkill on the damage dice!

7:30 Fun fact: the reason the pirate & West Country accents are so close is largely attributed to Robert Newton playing both Long John Silver & Blackbeard in two popular live-action Disney films. Given both the fictional Silver & historical Blackbeard were alleged to be from Bristol, & Newton himself was from Dorset, the grizzled variation on the West Country accent seemed to stick. Since West Country is closer to archaic English accents (look up Shakespeare original pronunciations) it's probably not that far off historically either.

Fun Fact: Calico Jack was called that because he wore a coat made from a fabric with a pattern called calico. It was a natural pattern occuring from how the flax was processed while making it. It was often used to make fancier dresses for women so Jack might have had a taste for pretty things. Speaking of which, he also allegedly dated Anne Bonny and Mary Reid who also might have had a relationship with each other. Basically my headcanon is 90% of all Pirates probably did each other.

Found this channel about a month ago, subbed a week later, and since then I've spent hundreds of dollars on new board games! This channel is great at showing how fun board games can be. And I have yet to watch a Tellestrations game without cry-laughing to the point it becomes unhealthy.

Good to put the note about the rules, and it makes sense. With John's though, it could easily be legal by way of 1 food out for 6 powder then 1 powder out for 6 food rather than powder for powder and food for food.

I did a lengthy report on Anne Bonny in middle school and, in doing so, fell a little in love with her story. She started out pretending to be a guy while she co-pirated with "Calico" Jack Rackham and then also with Mary Read, and she was rumored to be romantically involved with both. But alas, that whole trio was pretty late in the period of Caribbean pirates (non-Disney), so they didn't have much chance to interact with the REALLY big names like Blackbeard. What I'm saying is that this is like a superhero crossover event for me. XD

Holy shit, have we been playing this wrong for 10 years? We read the rules to be you resolve all day actions before the night actions, so we were going around the table and everyone did their day action first, then we went around again to do the night action. It made sense to us because you could lose gold or food in a fight during the day action, then your night action you had planned could be ruined. It made combat more perilous.

The rulebook actually says each person resolves both their actions before the next person turns over the card so they were playing it wrong too.
