Fun fact about the Dalmatian puppies: several of them actually do line up with specific puppies from the movies in terms of where their spots are and the personalities they display when they're rescued and placed into the house. 5 is Patch, 6 is Rolly, 12 is Lucky, 13 is Pepper, 23 is Penny, and 69 is Freckles. Even though not a single one is named in-game, this info is in the Ultimania. In addition to that, male puppies have red collars and female ones have blue ones. There's actually a shocking amount of detail in the 99 puppies, way more than anyone would notice without reading a supplementary book they released later.

One of my favorite obscure Disney animation facts: the production designer for Hercules was Gerald Scarfe, perhaps most famous for animating Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Ron Clements and John Musker were big fans of his and invited him to tour the studio and send in some Greek-inspired concept art; he ended up conceptualizing every character in the cast, and although he didn't end up animating for the film himself (his style was considered "too fluid and chaotic" for Disney's house style), he ultimately oversaw the entire animation team. Fun to re-watch Hercules and realize that the Cyclops shares some artistic DNA with the giant, terrifying arse-and-bollocks that sings "The Trial".

Games from RGG Studios have a lot of one-off characters that are voiced by actors that are more known for live action tv or movies (their faces are normally based off their actors as well), and their battle barks can be very funny sounding, but also endearing in its own way.

For those interested, if you're not confident in your dodge roll timing, it's also possible to avoid Hades' fire spin attack by locking onto him, getting close, and strafe-running as he rotates. You might even get hurt less that way.

Except for the final mix stuff which was specifically added to lead into a sequel I feel confident in saying that KH1's plot is 100 percent cohesive and even if it wasn't the story is really about Sora more than any of the setpieces.

I dunno, I personally feel like the open ending explicitly stating a future event is too much of a call forward for this to be self contained. I do think 1, CoM, and 2 form a very tight and satisfying trilogy though.

@@thacobell4700 yes. agreed. that's honestly where things should have ended in a sense. The letter at the end of 2 could have been just a plot hook of some unrelated series of events that just happened to occur after everything was completed. But then we got the prequels which just complicated the plot far beyond what it needed to be.

I've been loving this LP, one of my favorites from any content creator in a long time. I hope you guys will do KH2 too, and maybe a let's watch of Chain of Memories cutscenes or something. Could be fun to ignore that game though and give Ironicus the experience many of us had as kids, just going from KH1 to KH2 and being confused as all heck in the prelude, lol.

The sniperwilds are so rude. You have to kill at least 6 of them before they drop the rare material, and even then it's only like a 30% chance. And they're probably the first rare heartless that you're going to encounter. One of the worst first impressions of the new stuff lol

Worth mentioning that the Leaf Bracer ability Chip talks about during the Coliseum fights did not exist in the original PS2 release of the game. I honestly thought that it debuted in Chain of Memories and it wasn't until this LP that I found out that the Final Mix rerelease of KH1 actually introduced it. Also if you pick the sword Sora learns it at level 69, which is both the latest and nicest level you learn it at

You can avoid Hades' flame pillars by getting close to him and circling around. This doesnt work at a distance because the circumference of the circle you have to run around him is much larger than it is when you are close to him.

Yeah, Dogs got like this Sixth Sense most of us lack that senses things on other planes of existence or at least not visible to our eyes. It's weirdly a plot point or just a fun bit of world building in a surprising number of settings. "Saint Bernard mixed with a Chow Chow." Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd immediately looking up what THAT looks like. 'Checks' Oh Wow, that mixes real well appearance wise they are cute as hell as puppies and look pretty majestic as adults, but that is a big fucking dog. But I could see alot of people who like big dogs who'd love that combo. "Voice acting is different than Movie Acting or Stage Acting." Koudelka is a great example of this, as all the Voice Actors are Stage Actors, who also did the motion capture.
