I feel like Adam was a little unfair to point out they would have heard his second move. It's not even clear they were even aware that a special card could do that... a good gamer with knowledge of that card existing would immediately say "unless that card he played was the silent one"... and they are good players.
@Clumbob2 жыл бұрын
@@Spanner1971B Yeah, that felt really cheap to me. He reminded the players of a rule they forgot (because it helped him if they knew) but didn't remind them of the caveat that meant that information wasn't 100% accurate (because it would have hurt him if they knew). That's the kind of move that's totally valid if it's a game everyone knows well enough to know all the rules, but feels like an abuse of game knowledge if you're pulling it on newer players who don't actually know the rules. At that point you aren't tricking them, you're just lying to them.
@LifeUntilLove2 жыл бұрын
@@Clumbob But pointing out you could have used a card is announcing that you used a card to make the move. The whole point of having the cards be unknown is to give the sniper some wiggle room. I question Sully's historical knowledge or at the least his firearm knowledge, though to be fair he is British. They've come over to the US in large numbers for low prices and they tend to work fairly well, though not accurate by modern standards they do in fact go bang. I have one that was made in Izhevsk in 1942 with the serial number prefix Л, it would not be surprising if my rifle was at Stalingrad at some point, since the date and serial number would imply it was made a relatively short time before and that was the deadliest battle of WWII. Though it is true that not enough of these rifles were present at the beginning of the war with a non-aggression pact between Germany and the USSR (and warning signs of Germany's upcoming violation of the pact reportedly ignored), but now to this day it is estimated that it is the second or third most produced rifle ever (behind the Kalashnikov family and by some estimates the Gewer 98).

my thoughts exactly. They rarely to never had less guns than they had men on any front and men sent into battle carried at least a bolt-action rifle. The scene from "enemy at the gates" is a heady mix of misinterpreted first-hand accounts about the lack of cohesion and tactical acumen during the years 1941-1942. As for their weapons being so horrifically unreliable, no. Their weapons were very reliable with a few excaptions. Those being the PPSH drum magazines having feeding issues, but those were rarely carried. The ammo was the main issue, due to the speed at which ammo needed to be pumped out there was the issue of large ammounts of under pressurized cartridges causing cycling issues in direct blowback weapons, like the PPSH and TT-30 both chambered in 7.62x25 Tokarev. This was not an issue for the SVT-38 or the SVT-40 as they were notoriously overgassed, and obviously not a problem for a bolt-action.

This seems like a better version of Whitechapel and I'm all for it. I loved the video games, and this seems super cool. I think I have to buy it now.

There's one thing I wish the boardgame had from the original... Testicle Shot. Shoot between the legs, it hurts more.

I believe you can get a special mini of a certain German leader reacting to such a shot if you buy it directly from the company website.

A surprisingly good adaptation. Though I feel like the sniper really should exfil (via any of the exits) during a third round. Also, Blair consistently pronouncing "move" as "meww-v" drives me up the wall.

That sully fact about soviet rifles and one bullet is wrong FYI a myth started by Enemy at the Gates.
@dragonzord66152 жыл бұрын
Yep. Kinda wish people would stop saying it as though it's fact.
@bendavy18162 жыл бұрын
@@dragonzord6615 it’s one of those things that’s been said so many times it’s now “fact”. Very annoying as it doesn’t hold up to even the slightly investigation.
@RandomPerson-nd2ey2 жыл бұрын
Weren't they notoriously bad rifles though? Also, generally under equipped? I know the "Night Witches" were but they were legends.

@@bendavy1816 Yep, as someone with a bachelors in history, it's incredibly frustrating to hear...
@bendavy18162 жыл бұрын
@@RandomPerson-nd2ey they weren’t as bad as you’d think. Cheaply made sure (especially compared to a lot of German equipment) but they were good rifles. The Russians just made equipment to last as long as they needed not forever.

something cool you might be able to pull off for games like this. would be to have someone controlling the lights on the table during the game. in this game for ex you could have the lights fade from blue to yellow when a the sniper has been located. when the sniper is hit it could flash to red and fade back to yellow on the first wound. obviously it would not work on all games, but for some games like this it might be cool. maybe a patreon only feature to give the viewers who contribute some more unique content. just a thought.

"These guys just reek nazi" Yes but like Mitchell going "are we the baddies? There is a skull on my cap :(" not like... Red Skull. Edit: also if you love those hidden move games maybe try Fury of Dracula. The ones among you that like doing voices will get their fill and you could make Blair do a British accent. That last one is a joke I also can't do accents.

If these even are monetized, how quickly did this episode lose that after it was posted?

Im guessing as soon as the German group got mentioned. Also I'm guessing it wouldn't matter as they have several channels/patreons would cover it
