It is *shocking* to me that you didn't know you could spindash into the upsidedown wheely spike bots at the final regular boss - that fight definitely is way more fun and interesting when you play that way, IMO.

When you're the fighting the final boss with the two hands, if you stay in place and spin dash, it'll do damage to his fingers even when they crush you. You can even let go when the middle finger crushes you and then you'll bounce against the other two. That way you do damage to all three fingers without doing anything at all.

This is truly the most epic boss in the whole series. Forget BioLizard. Forget fighting Super Metal Sonic, this is Robotnik in a mecha the size of a small skyscraper attacking you with everything he's got. That. Is. EPIC.

I remember playing Sonic 2 and thinking THAT Mecha Robotnik was awesome as a kid. AND THEN I PLAYED SONIC 3 AND KNUCKLES. Most other boss fights I've had in the Sonic series since just haven't filled me with the sheer awe as this boss fight did.

To best avoid falling to your death on Eggman's escape at the end, run underneath and attack from the bottom, you'll bounce straight down instead of off to the left into the falling platforms.

It's easier to just spin dash the overturned spike carts in the miniboss it flips them into the death ball. If you can manage to keep at least fifty rings in the miniboss, you can actually mow down the death egg robot. A neat trick is to keep holding the left button for the final hit on Robotnik durring the chase scene

you made the endboss a lot harder than it actually is. when those bomb-robots stick in the groudn with their spikes, you can spinroll through them, throwing them in the air, additionally hitting the endboss. "on-feet"-bots will bump you back. so no dmg taken. but still a lot of fun watching you play. love that game.

Did you know that if you hit the little spike bomb robots that the "Death Sphere" drops with a spin dash when they are upside down, you can flip them and drop them on the "Death Sphere" from the top to deal damage?

This final boss is so annoying, because every time i tried to hit him, Tails would hit him first, and then he gets invulnerability frames while i was jumping to hit him, making me fall to my death. Tails is actually the real threat in this fight.

You can also Spindash into those things that the boss shoots. This can both hurt it and you can flip it over to hit his head from the top.

I totally agree, but I guess there's a price to pay for making these videos faster. I was definitely expecting the act 1 boss of this zone to be called "one-eyed monster" or something equally as suggestive.

You can spindash into the spiny things as long as the wheels are on the ground to propel them into RBnik

If you're Super/HyperSonic at the first endboss, you can spindash and clip off the edge of the screen, falling through the floor. Death Egg 2 was one of the most hated stages for me.

When they're on their heads, spin dash the things the boss spits. It chucks them up (down?) enough to hit the mini boss. If they miss, they drop and move extra fast from then on.

I actually hated the reverse gravity gimmick as a kid, but I don't mind it now. Still don't like the upside-down elevators. A real pain.

A little while back before I could figure out how to beat the last boss on the Death Egg here (the giant robot one) I actually couldn't figure out a proper way to beat the second phase with the fire and the Master Emerald laser cannon without being Super or Hyper Sonic and if I ever was stuck with no rings believe it or not I actually did find Tails being controlled by the AI useful. I would jump reveal the Master Emerald cannon and once I had it in view I would jump just enough for *2bcont.*

if the playing field was level for every final boss (aka no rings) Sonic 3's final boss (Squeeze Tag Machine) might be the toughest, just because he's so fast and his hitbox is so small. Then again, that's what the insta shield is for.

When those spike drones are upside down on the ground, you can spin dash into them to make them fly up and hit the boss.

personally i thought robo robotnik 1 was tougher because his attacks (shooting fists, robotnik mines) take you by surprise and his hitbox is small and unpredictable

*Continued* I would jump reveal the Master Emerald laser cannon and once I had it in view I would jump just enough for the AI controlling Tails to follow Me and then have Tails hit the the laser cannon and then I would dodge the fire that came afterwards then I would repeat doing it like that until it was destroyed and then move onto the third phase of the boss. These days I can kind of do it with Sonic without cheaply using Tails like that sometimes but it's still pretty hard for *2bcont.*

*Continued* I'd like to see you try to beat the last boss with a controller that screws up in the middle of playing that makes Sonic go the wrong way straight into his death or that makes you lose control of him all of a sudden making him not move and stand still despite the fact you have the controller plugged in and are pressing the buttons, it's kind of hard to do it when your controllers do that. I wish My Wii's Classic Controller and the Wiimotes would stop doing that in every game I play.

When I was a kid, I thought that RR2 was tougher; now, I think that RR1 is (at least for me), because of his relatively smaller hitbox, and the tendency for some hits to clip through the boss, and you not having options for rings at all. I don't have any problems with the laser anymore, and could probably jump over it blindfolded. But hey, opinions are subjective, etc. That sections were Robotnik is escaping with the M.E., though... I still keep hoping that I don't fall off after the final hit.

Yeah back when I had just Sonic & Knuckles (I never had Sonic 3, I asked for it but got a Rocky and Bullwinkle game from My Aunt instead since she couldn't find the game but I did eventually play S3&K on PC and in compilations) on My Sega Genesis (Megadrive for tjose of you outside the U.S.) whenever I was lucky enough to get to him I still could never beat him when I was just a kid, it wasn't until I played the full S3&K that I beat him due to the extra lives I could rack up *2bcont.*

I'd LOVE it if you would do through 3+S&K with Knuckles. I've been replaying through the classic games myself and it's pretty amazing, given the technology at the time, how varied the routes, bosses, and overall gameplay is when you play as Knuckles. Unfortunately, a lot of it might seem repetitive to you. :P

*Continued and I'm sorry for the long comment I'll understand if anyone hates Me for it* but it's still pretty hard for Me to hit the thing as Sonic the proper way but hey at least using Tails like that isn't as bad as using Super or Hyper Sonic to get through the boss and hey at least when I used Tails like that to defeat this boss it was one of the few times the AI controlling him was actually being useful and helpful instead of being a nuisance.

Why don't you flip over the wheel spike things by spin dashing? It makes the fight way faster. This is the only LP I've ever given a shit about. That's got to be worth something.
