Something I realized from whatching this is that when kratos first climbs on the dragons back and smacks his head with the axe he realized he needed to soften his head before the kill shows that he's not just powerful but smart too.

I always wondered why the dragon would use her electric breath in that moment. But imagining something getting clogged in your neck. Of course you'd want to give one last attack before you die! Which in terms of damage, all it did was move Kratos's trajectory while falling.

I think that was to show how Kratos figured out how to beat the dragon, he first goes for the head but nothing can pass through his scales, until he realises you have to use his own power against it, using the electric blasts to break his scale armour and weaken him, and then ending it with an explosive crystal through it's throat

I will always have a spot for Kratos Prime (as one of my favorite video game characters ever). But, Father Kratos ain't no pushover...he ain't as mobile/athletic as he once was (not to say he isn't anymore, but he's very limited...) As he grew older, strategic planning/improvisation and well-thought/coordinated attacks are his primary focuses. I'm looking forward to the next game. :))
