Jamie, just a suggestion. Since you might have wanted to close those doors you removed, you could get a cool curtain to hang from the ceiling. Something like a beautiful linen. or some other vintage/retro or fabulous fabric. This way you're not going to be staring at organized clutter, if you know what I mean. Just a suggestion, since you asked.

A couple thoughts: 1. I would put ALL the makeup in the same closet. The tall Ikea unit will certainly fit next to the stacked wide ones, and the clear bins (the pre-collection drawers) can be lined up on the shelf above. Then, the stuff that is in the bins currently on the shelves (that you tidied up at the end of the video) can be stored in the other closet where there are doors to hide it more. 2. YES PLEASE film the lip product organization! 3. I feel like you must have been tracking my YT searches, because i have been searching makeup declutter/organization videos constantly lately! We are closing on our house tomorrow, and so this weekend will be a lot of cleaning, putting things away, organizing, and possibly some decluttering too. Happy Mother's Day to me...it will be a LOT of work instead of "relaxing", but i'm so excited for it! 4. I hate doors on closets. When we move into the new house, one of the first things i plan on doing is removing all the closet doors.

maybe place the tall alex drawer right next to the two wide ones? if the height is the same (looks like it) that would streamline things a bit, plus it would free up the space on the left side of the closet. also, perhaps some nice curtains could go where the doors were previously? just remove all the doors and replace them with some nice cream linen curtains hung from the ceiling, that could look really nice and uniform

I would move the small drawers next to the wide ones and get a beautiful curtain to cover everything. Also you might as well lay all your foundations, concealers and everything flat since you have so many drawers. I think it will make everything look even more organized. I love your office so much!!

Okay, so being an overly organised human it literally pained me watching the video. So I’m gonna jot down all my thoughts 1. don’t stuff products in tiny bins when you have sooo much space left in the drawers! you can easily spread some products out in the drawer so that nothing is piled up on one another and you can see everything clearly. 2. Just shift the long unit along side the wider unit so that all your makeup can be together. Also clear bins can be stored on top of the drawers and the stuff which you tied up at the end can be stored where clear bin are stored right now. 3. The clear unit on top of the wide drawers can be organised better, by shifting some categories in Alex drawers. Like mascaras can be stored in one drawer where unopened ones are stored at the back while opened ones at the front. Also, last one promise 😅, the shelves which you removed can be stored in the area of the wardrobe which still has the door so that it’s not in your sight anymore!

I have ocd so I was definitely struggling in this video too. I definitely agree with moving the one ikea tall one next to the other two. And each bin just looked like everything was shoved in to fit rather than organizing by brand or size. But to each their own. 🤷‍♀️

@@JamiePaige I get that. I struggle with ocd that gets worse with age. 😂 I couldn’t sleep until it was all done. That including moving into a new house. Everything has to be put away or I can’t sleep. Every box would be emptied. It’s very frustrating and helps add wrinkles to my face. I want to move around some stuff in my main drawer and counter but I can’t touch it until I buy all the organizer that have to match at the same time. I can’t do bit by bit. So annoying.

I absolutely feel you about that sensation of “this is never going to be finished”. We are renovating my parent’s attic so I can move in there and we are doing the bulk of the work ourselves (wiring, plumbing, fixing old furniture, heck, my dad even did the visible wooden beams) and every time I think I’m done with a piece of furniture or with painting there is a liiiittle detail to add. Found shelves for the wardrobe that are visible, so they need to be cleaned and painted, need to cut the screws for the new drawer and door knobs so they fit right. After I move there, hopefully at the end of this month, I’ll be very very happy to not see a can of blue paint for a while.

I used the same exact labels on my Alex drawers!! I feel cool because we match. Hahaha. I’m such a dork, so this totally validated me. The only difference is that I put the labels on the inside part where you put your hand to pull it open, so it’s a little hidden. You have to look down to see the label, does that make sense?

Controversial opinion: I never liked the Alex unit to organize my makeup… I hate the huge wasted space at the back where I can’t see what are the products, it doesn’t seem efficient to me 🫣🙃 I’m stupidly excited for makeup declutters and organization. It’s mostly being nosy/curious of what people keep around and how they organize their things, which serves as inspiration for my own collection. Would love to see a video dedicated to lipsticks.

I found I needed drawers that I could see what was in them. I have been happy with my plastic tower drawers. I think when I can't see my makeup it is out of sight out of mind for me! I think that the area with the wider shelves and empty space would look nice with a fake plant (as you mentioned), but I would also put a cool art deco (small) lamp on top of the dresser (where the eye shadows are now) so you don't always have to have the overhead light on/ it looks more like a makeup "nook". *There are loads of cute battery-operated lamps if you don't have an outlet in the closet. 👍
