great episode! character-wise, however, barring something drastic i don't think hobbs would allow anyone else on the stove! not that he doesn't trust his fellow companions in the Squinn Dreamers Manufactory Collective, but he seems like the sort that would staunchly insist that he learned the best way to make food from the masters decades ago and everyone's sort of inured to his particular eccentricities that no one really challenges him on that. plus he definitely formed some desperate attachment to it, roasting meat for days on end while ducking from bandits after like ten episodes ago. cooking too, is also only a little bit removed from alchemy so i think due to people getting a tad bored with just hobbs' special steaks every night and he might take to learning/"remembering" new recipes on the bench!! also i wonder if hobbs wouldn't be the last person to part with his don't-kiss-the-scientist trenchcoat until like a bunch more people were geared up with it and sand inveigled him to accept the necessity of change. admittedly, i might just want to see those guns! i do really really love the idea of park being at the core a big genial dumb dumb who can't really say no to anyone with enough panache, and sand psychically sensing his dear friend spending all of the cooperative's cash reserves on emaciated weirdos and trying to dash off and stop him...before realizing that trying to change park's mind once he's made it is futile. the new characters seem great and i just adore your voices for them. perhaps it might be time for sand and crew to consider purchasing the nice pied-a-terre down the street and furnishing it so everyone's not crammed together upstairs listening to the symphony of industry all night long? one could perhaps place the new training dummies there. and you might not run into the dumb food hassles from last time since it's all in the ~squinn zone~. again, what a stellar episode! terrific editing and of course great play. welcome back from australia and thanks for the series rycon. really excellent work

You forgot to talk with the hive prince Axe at the end. Being a drifter he was hirable. They make great scouts (being fast), thieves (have bonuses to that) and archers.

Shek gate guard calling Sand "pudgy" at around 17:00... Oh my God :D Great episode as always! Good to hear you talk about the "several smiths" thing, but you at least changed my mind regarding doing that with armorsmithing, because you can have a few extra people who can prepare the materials like tanning leather or making chainmail sheets and armor plating. Spot btw can be a good extra smith since she gets +20% XP for all smithing except crossbows. Speaking of crafting, the safest way to get more varied blueprints is to go to other "cultures" basically, the Shek will pretty much always have only the blueprints you've seen. You've got a better bet for finding more varied blueprints in say, Shark, Mongrel or any of the UC or HN cities. Like, you'll find Samurai stuff in the UC, and the Paladin armor and stuff in the HN. And also, if you can find the blueprint for leather turtlenecks get that instead of just shirts. Turtlenecks have a lot better coverage than shirts. Don't forget to check the quality of your own weapons either! You're rocking out with some really trashy staves and stuff which Park would frown at using when he can whip up much better weapons :P

@@speurtighearnamacterik8230 The Jedi usually have to stick to a standard of attire true some stray from it but most always has to dress to the standard of the order. Sith just wear mostly what they want. Ya mentioned Vader and how the cosplayers had a hard time. Fun fact so did he he left it that way he wanted to be uncomfortable to remind him of what was taken from him. He had multiple times where he could have gotten a better cyborg parts. But refused to fuel his anger more. Most sith don't bother with traditional garb less their master does so the will usually wear what is most fond to them. Mauls gi was his choice makes it better that what the Jedi use as most of their choices are taken from them as children. Their puppets, dolls , toys to be used up and tossed aside theirs a reason they failed. Because they lost track of what they actually were. They rejected emotions but the true path is to accept them and move forward. Least the sith got a handle on the first part.

The true material cost is always to look at the ingredients, if there is a single ingredient then multiply that with the material cost on the right. So Samurai Cloth Pants actually uses 2.5 fabric per craft. Which is still very profitable at higher quality.

Driving for two hours right now but gonna listen to this anyways! I see you've gotten some merc leather armor. Good choice. Really solid medium armor. I recommend equipping your characters with it along with samurai cloth pants. They cover 100% of legs ans 50% of stomach so it covers where the merc leathers don't. Already know this is gonna be a sweet episode

Rewatching the series and watching you put the crew together knowing what happens is a treat.

Different towns/cultures tend to have different different armor/weapons blueprints, usually for what the locals have/use. Shek like heavy weapons so you will only find the blueprints for that. If you want some different blueprints, you will need to try with the hive villages or the city in the swamp. There is actually a city you don't know yet that has a so called library with most (all?) of the blueprints. Ancient science books can be found in limited numbers just in a couple of shops. The rest have to be salvaged. Same with the next type of research artifacts (AI cores) Also recruits vary based on the location. You missed a different race in the waystation bar (the hiver). The last one you got actually has a racial bonus for crafting, which might be something worth considering.

Sand is looking like a giant compared to Hobbs at 59:38 If the power outages becomes problem, building generators or windmills in the house will generate more power and contribute to the Squin power grid. Also, dogs (and other animals) will eat out of backpacks when they are in range outside if I'm not mistaken, make sure to have the option "share food" checked. There are also some nifty key-bindings, so you can select everyone at the same time or cycle through people in squads without clicking on their portraits (QOL, saves time and if you put that on the mouse side-buttons it's very practical). Another small thing: If you want to place let's say the meat barrel closer to the stove, you can do so in the editor. I love the series, keep it up!

I followed the tale of Leonidas & Logan Religiously (not the holy flame kind..) and I loved those series but something about this world and the characters that you have developed and humanized keep me engrossed , 10/10 better than any show on TV or otherwise , always appreciate your dedication to your series ! The only real issue I've had so far with this series, is how woffaly inefficient you're set ups are XD. At the same time thought, It does work out kinda nice to see them bustling around do work all over town. Peeps saying hello, and love when the traders remember you and say Hello.

Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it or not but you can access the ore storage while trading. Shift clicking sells the maximum. That way you don’t have to micro manage selling ores

I like to keep lanterns on my crafters full time. Because lighting debuffs on laborers will affect only their work speed, while crafter's product quality may take a hit from that along with speed. And I don't trust stationary light sources, they worked kinda funny during my playthrough. Injury can also mess with product quality. Two main reasons why my new equipment ends up in an incinerator.

Hey, I don't mean to backseat game or anything, but you might be able to make your life a little bit easier if you get a mod that lets food stack in your inventory. The "General Modifications" mod on the steam workshop is the one I use, and it makes the QoL in Kenshi a little bit more manageable while still being mostly vanilla.

It's just how KZbin does things now to lessen the load from uploading. The quality will improve over time. There are ways around it but it is just a hassle for the content creators, especially the ones that have a lot of content to release.

It would be nice if KZbin made this clearer in someway, like a pending quality thing in the quality list or something so the content creators don't get the brunt of anyone that dislikes it. I would hate to think people are losing subscribers or getting down voted for something that is not really their fault. Apparently you can upload the video, set it to private until it's done processing, then come back and set it to public when it is finished. No idea if there is any indication of processing being finished so it would be a pain to have to keep track of the processing progress of all your videos.

This was kind of a rough episode for me to get through.. For so much of it I had to pause every minute or so to try to make sense of what you're doing and what your logic was. I gotta say, ever since you found Squin, this series has steadily been going downhill... And it's not so much of what you're doing, but how you're doing it. Obviously, this series has long since been recorded, so it is what it is. But, still.., lol. I really dug the first few episodes of this playthrough for various reasons. The biggest and only real complaints I had were that you're a bit *too* greedy, and that you're rather stingy towards useful items or characters when you didn't need to be. But now there's just so much more to complain about with like almost every decision you made. You've gradually been washing out this series with the way you tend to hyper focus on an immediate objective or a small and specific detail while ignoring almost everything else... And it feels like, despite the slower gameplay, you've gotten less and less patient with things. Maybe that was just a result of the hassle of focusing or multitasking, or something. The RP aspect was also really great at the start, as well as how you wanted to play the game and how you'd discuss with yourself how you'd consider using each character. Now, from the point when you were looting and scavenging around Squin, to settling and setting up the industry inside of Squin, you're just kind of complacent and benign about how you play the game and how you effectively interact with or utilize/build your characters. The world-building and character building has been totally shot. You barely even bring up the stat menus. I think it was like 2 hours of footage between the time you got Ruka in your party to the first time you ever pulled up and showed us her stats. I still enjoy the series. It had a very strong start with the first few episodes, and there are still some things of interest that happen now and then. I assume it'll only go up from here
