Thanks Andrew, it took a while - it's getting better though, only the coupling rods to make now... stay tuned!

Nice video William, glad to see that the loco build is progressing, and that you are pleased with it.

Thank you so much - how's your Speedy coming along?

@@williamsworkshopuk slowly I am afraid William. I am replacing our kitchen, working on an old lathe I was given, and need to sort my Holmside boiler out (going to try and build a new one).

Great work, after all the little hiccups you should be proud of what you have now! Onto the next step!

Only the rods and bushes to make and it's all hung together finally!

Thank you - it’s but a pale shadow of your amazing work though!

@@williamsworkshopuk you're doing pretty damn good William. Slow and steady, learning as you go. Just the same as me, although I have been through a lot of this before on a previous build (far from complete).

Looking more like a loco now William, nice work. Ian

Looking a little more like a loco for sure - only a couple of bits and then I can ride it around the livingroom.

Oh you definitely should, everything I've ever machined has been on this channel and I started from zero knowledge too!

Another landmark moment. On a different topic, sometime soon I hope to get my Kennedy hacksaw machine operational: it doesn't currently have a motor, could you tell me what the rating is of the motor on yours ? I'm hoping that I have a suitable motor 'in stock'.
@williamsworkshopuk2 жыл бұрын
Hi George, it's an old Hoover - I think 1/4 horsepower. The major limitation is the weight (or lack thereof) on the cutting arm, so there's never much stress on the motor other than keeping it going.

Welcome! There's alot of content there - I've recently 'finished' the Stuart 10v I started a while ago almost entirely on the lathe - the Maid of Kent is a much longer proposition :)
